Job Description
As a key member of the Nuclear Steam South Region team, you will be an active contributor to accomplishing our business priorities and objectives. This Customer Event Manager (CEM) South Nuclear Americas role will require you to drive thorough, consistent outage planning, execution and post-outage close-out activities working closely with Customer Service Managers (CSMs) across the Nuclear South portfolio.

Excellent project management and project planning skills – including active and reliable engagement - are important elements to succeeding in this role.
Who You Are:
- You have advanced experience with steam turbine and generator maintenance and systems operation.
- You have familiarity with nuclear operations and working environment / culture especially in outage situations.
- You are someone who proactively engages to support effective outage planning, identifying and mitigating risks.

Your Role:
- Plan, prepare, and manage projects from beginning to end by working closely with CSMs and OMs reviewing project requirements, setting up projects, mapping purchase orders, developing and executing against cost estimates, establishing project risk analysis and mitigation strategies, and owning performance relative to internal metrics and customer goals.
- Communicate with CSMs, Customer Fulfillment Manager (CFM), Resource Managers, EHS Managers, and Staff Project Managers to update job status, timely escalate gaps / issues threatening fulfillment, and ensure project success on a daily basis from planning to execution through close-out.
- Ensure EHS standards at site are met by working with the Site EHS Specialists to develop and execute EHS plans, customer requirements, and overall timely OneGE EHS plan compliance and completion.
- Own the status and monitoring of progress and costs of the project with the support of the relevant individuals on site and/or in the project controls team.
- Conduct audits and inspections on the work teams during the execution of the installation, commissioning, receiving, operation, and maintenance activities.
- Analyze and report project close out metrics to determine proximity to operating plan targets.
- Review revenue pacing and billing and approve supplier invoices in coordination with Project Managers (PMs), OMs and the CFM.
- Coordinate with CSMs for lessons-learned review sessions to improve the safety and productivity / profitability of future projects.
- Engage with Root Cause Analysis efforts – including leadership of them – identify meaningful corrective actions, assure progress on action completion, track closure progress, implement corrective actions based on inputs of safety observations, ER / NCR cases, internal, supplier, and customer feedback.
- Support Service Director and Operations Leader with demand & capacity planning activities, including Local Area Team (LAT) meetings & long-term outage forecasting.
- Focus on developing and implementing strategies around acquiring, developing, and retaining key Field Engineering resources for the region.
- Work with CSMs on accurate Site Incentive Plan (SIP) submittals and approvals for the outage field team.
- Assist CSMs with specialty scope planning, including but not limited to OSS, LES, and other specialty vendor quote requests and selections - and be familiar with internal process for requesting each of these specialty functions.
- Review Job Cost Estimates (JCEs) for accurate costing projections of various turbine/generator/valve/auxiliary scopes and assist with weekly cost tracking/reporting against them.

Basic Qualifications:
- Technical/University degree from an accredited university or college in science / engineering and qualifying experience; or a high school diploma / GED with a minimum of 5 years of specialized / industry experience in nuclear steam turbine, generator, and auxiliary system outage planning and execution in a leadership role; or equivalent of +10 years of experience in the power generation industry - including nuclear - with demonstrated success/knowledge of steam turbine and generator installation and/or maintenance and team leadership.
Desired Qualifications:
- Strong Project Management and planning skills (Primavera scheduling tool preferred).
- Job cost estimation and Load Board development and effective utilization.
- PC proficiency: ability to learn quickly - web applications, advanced Excel skills, drawing retrieval and understanding.
- Able to interface effectively with various levels of the organization and external customers.
- Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills and influencing skills.
- Nuclear culture familiarity including operations and outage experience.
- Strong technical and maintenance knowledge of steam turbines and generators.
- Strong team leader in dynamic, energetic, and complex customer site environments.
- Ability to work under high pressure and time constraints, committed and process oriented.
- Ability to work multiple projects simultaneously and effectively in a cross-functional team.
- Ability and willingness to work holidays, weekends and overtime as required by field assignments.
- Ability to network across business functions to achieve deliverable commitments on time.
- 3+ direct people management experience.
- Management accounting & GE specific accounting practices & operating rhythm familiarity.
- Previous experience managing people & their career development.
- Willingness to travel with short notice and be present on site when needed.
- Ability to influence stakeholders to deliver customer and business needs.
- Field Engineering Program (FEP) graduate.
- Six Sigma and/or Lean experience.
The salary range for this position is $101,400.00 - $169,000.00 USD Annual. The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate’s experience, their education, and the work location. In addition, this position is eligible for variable incentive compensation.
