WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

The Nike Direct Global Store Development team seeks a Construction Manager, who will lead a broad range of activities in support of our Geo teams and business contributors from design development through project completion by translating innovative designs and retail concepts into reality! This role facilitates and supports Nike’s retail construction process and standards by managing project landmarks, encouraging communication between Geo team members, coordinating project teams, solving problems, and resolving issues.

WHAT YOU WILL WORK ON

You will be responsible for:

  • Seeing opportunities for process improvement (including risk management / safety) and recommends solutions
  • Defines Global Stores Construction approach, processes, and standards
  • Supports Geo teams in the structuring and execution of construction management strategies and standards. Serve as advisor to cross-functional partners (inclusive of Geos), with expertise in retail construction & regional/ global differences
  • Design process and preconstruction management – work closely with internal Nike design team, internal partners, and external consultants to establish required results, and process improvement while tracking resolution of outstanding issues
  • Work with Design Development team, bringing scalable x-functional work to deliver and implement across Geo teams.
  • Contract management and documentation – assist teams in the contract scope development, review, award, and contract management with a focus on National or global vendor agreements which improve on vendor service potential
  • Constructability review – work with Geo Construction and Design teams to determine overall constructability, standard methodologies, and design efficiencies
  • Product procurement – work with Procurement team and internal partners to improve and see opportunities for global vendor/ supplier capabilities to reduce lead time, decrease spend, and improve sustainable material selection. Develop and maintain relationships with third-party vendors as required
  • Program management - lead and influence x-functional partners in support of project and program goals
  • Reporting – establish global tracking of project spend (CAPEX), cost, and guardrail standards
  • End to End approach from Design to Closure. Work with Store Facilities Management to develop improvements pre- and post-handover
  • Sustainability - support sustainability initiatives
WHO YOU WILL WORK WITH

You will be working closely with Global and GEO teams made up of x-functional partners from Retail Design, Loss Prevention, IT/tech, Store Ops, Facilities, and Store Opening teams, and act as the subject matter expert on construction.

You will also work closely with external consulting teams and project managers to ensure a strategic approach to building and maintaining the Nike Store fleet for the future.

WHAT YOU BRING
  • Bachelor's degree or higher; or combination of relevant education, experience and training
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Construction, Architecture, Engineering, or a similar field of study
  • Preferred - Professional accreditation(s) – ex. LEED GA/ AP
  • 5+ years of experience in construction-related project and program management
  • Experience in commercial or retail construction, fluency with architectural drawings, key trade works, construction terminology, and construction project management platforms
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Experience with Smartsheet and PlanGrid/ Procore, or project management like for like tools.
  • Project or program management experience required

  • Fluency across project management tools & processes
  • Ability to bring people together, identify task, deliverables, and track progress
