POSITION SUMMARY

As a manager, you are responsible for the PITCO Foods drivers and are accountable for the safety and security of those drivers, employees, customers, vendors, and any person who has required to be on the premises after hours. This position requires the strong leadership skills necessary to drive the processes and ensure all deliveries are fulfilled accurately.


ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for the safety and security of all night crew employees, the facility, and merchandise.
  • As a manager of people, this position is responsible for ensuring that all company policies and procedures are followed by the staff and ensuring accountability is enforced when required.
  • Oversees all sorting of the delivery orders and ensures the accuracy and integrity of the order.
  • Manages the loading of all inter-company transfer orders for all receiving Pitco Foods warehouses.
  • Open cash register for employee breaks/lunches, ensuring all cash handling policies and procedures are followed per Company Policy.
  • Is required to say on site until relief is present.
  • Ensures all work is complete and accurate by 2:30 am.
  • Keeps all high-risk merchandise and office areas secure, and locked at all times.
  • When the shift is over complete a safety walk of the facility to ensure no one is on the premises prior to locking down receiving and the main door.
  • Once all merchandise is loaded onto trucks, and the verifications are completely required to lock and seal each truck to maintain the integrity of the load.
  • Reviews the order puller productivity sheets daily and reacts to issues immediately.
  • Handles all employee relations issues as they arise in a fair and consistent manner. Partners with the appropriate members of HR and Management to address sensitive matters.
  • Ensures all staffing needs are met.
  • Perform other duties as required.
  • Follows up with the management team and makes recommendations on the improvement of operations and enforces as needed.

Working Conditions:

  • Due to forklifts and other heavy equipment traveling through the store, the environment can be noisy and dusty and may emit gas fumes.
  • Doors at the front are frequently open, causing drafts and interior temperature changes.
  • Standing and walking for long periods of time on a concrete surface.
  • Some overtime may be required and the hours may vary due to operational needs.

Education:

  • Bachelors degree and 5-7 years of proven management and leadership experience within the retail/wholesale grocery business.

General Manager Job Requirements:

  • Ability to lead and manage diverse teams in a constantly evolving work environment that is customer focused.
  • Very strong critical thinking and problem-resolution skills at both strategic and functional levels are required.
  • Strong customer service orientation and strong negotiation skills.
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of business financials required (P&L statements, revenue, gross profit, etc).
  • Proficient computer skills in the areas of email, and Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Word, Excel, etc.)
