Position Overview

The Network Engineer will be based in the New York office and will be responsible for providing network support to the Americas region and data centres. The Network Engineer will also work closely with global colleagues and entail a mixture of day-to-day support as well as project work as outlined below.


Responsibilities

  • Provide 2nd and 3rd level investigation and resolution of network and firewall incidents, problems, and support.
  • Monitor availability and performance of network systems.
  • Implement necessary network and firewall changes.
  • Provide support, expert advice, and guidance within the IT networks field of expertise.
  • Lead the network element of projects both regionally and globally.
  • Manage relations with external vendors and 3rd party providers.
  • Support Schroders Datacenter locations (northern New Jersey & Jersey City)


Basic Qualifications

  • Relevant combination of education and experience.
  • Experience working in a multi-cloud environment
  • 7+ years of relevant work experience; previous experience within banking or financial services preferred.
  • Fluent knowledge of EIGRP/BGP routing and experience with MPLS networks
  • Working knowledge and experience with:
 Multiple Cisco products, Nexus 5k/7k/9k line of switches, WLC, and Cisco 38xx series switches.
 Network monitoring tools (Prime, StatSeeker. etc..)
 Firewall policy management and Internet Content filtering management.
  • Knowledge and experience of Checkpoint and Palo Alto Firewalls including Global Protect VPN solutions
  • Excellent Switching/Routing problem solving skills
  • Recognized professional certification in Cisco technologies, such as CCNA, CCNP, CCIE highly desired.
  • Strong communication skills and able to engage with end users and third party suppliers/vendors
  • Experience with the following considered a plus:
o Microsoft Teams Telephony
o Microsoft Office Suite (Teams, etc…)
o Video Conferencing solutions (WebEx, Zoom, etc..)

Compensation

Schroders offers a base salary in a range of $130,000 to $160,000 for this position, dependent on qualifications and experience.
