POSITION TITLE: MUMPS/CACHE Software Developer

POSITION SUMMARY
The Software Developer works primarily with members of MediQuant’s agile development team to develop new features, enhance existing features and create new modules for MediQuant’s software products. MediQuant’s Software Developers are experienced in using M Technology (MUMPS), CACHE, IRIS, and object-oriented programming languages to implement corrections and enhancements to enterprise applications. Development team members embrace whole team ownership and can adapt to rapidly changing priorities while working as part of a high performing agile team which develops annual releases.

  • Designs software solutions for the healthcare industry. (*)
    • Develops and documents code using story cards with user stories and customer input
    • Performs developer testing
    • Writes and executes unit tests and provides additional documentation as needed
    • Gives and receives code reviews
    • Creates and implements defect fixes
    • Attends and actively participates in daily standups and monthly retrospectives
    • Performs related duties consistent with the scope and intent of the position

Required Education and Experience:

  • Associate’s Degree preferred; minimum of High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Ideally a minimum of 5 years of experience developing highly configurable software with significant size, scope and complexity using:
    • MUMPS/CACHE/IRIS
    • Object-oriented programming (C, C++, C#, or Java)
  • Ideally a minimum of 1 year writing and executing Unit Tests.
  • Experience in full System Development Life Cycle

Preferred Education and Experience:

  • Prefer agile software development experience

  • Prefer knowledge of HIPAA regulations involving PHI and HITECH

  • Prefer previous experience in Hospital & Healthcare

  • M Technology (MUMPS) and InterSystems IRIS experience

    • InterSystems (Cache/IRIS)

    • FIS Global (GT.M)

    • McKesson (MSE)

    • Other M Technology – (MSM, DSM, M21)

  • KB_SQL Server experience

    • Developing queries and reports with KB_SQL

    • Supporting users developing with KB_SQL

    • Mapping of global

    • Development of custom functions

  • Experience working with any of these systems:

    • Epic

    • McKesson/AllScripts/AlteraHealth

    • Midas Health Analytics

    • Sunquest/Antrim/Seacoast commercial laboratory

  • Experience with performance troubleshooting and tuning is a plus

  • Experienced in Microsoft SQL Server

  • Experienced in Azure DevOps

  • Experienced in Automation Testing

Work Environment. This job operates in a blend of professional office and home office environments. Incumbent will use standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

Physical Demands. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to sit for long periods of time, stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work. This is a full-time position, and hours of work and days are typically Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Some flexibility in hours is allowed, but the employee must be available during the “core” work hours of 9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and must work 40 hours each week to maintain full-time status. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.

Travel. Travel is not a regular requirement for this position.
