Job description

The School District of Lee County is looking for a passionate multimedia specialist to develop and deliver an original story and program content from initial conception to final production in order to increase knowledge, awareness, appreciation, and support of the District’s initiatives, vision, and mission.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

▪ Associate’s degree from an accredited institution; Bachelor’s degree in broadcasting, journalism, or a related field preferred.

▪ Five (5) years of experience in television news, creative services, or presentation experience or work in the education field in a public information or other broad-based, District-level capacity.

▪ Proven experience successfully managing business/department functions and staff preferred. ▪ Industry certification preferred.

▪ Lean Six Sigma Certification preferred

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

▪ Clear and concise oral and written communication skills; organizational and management skills.

▪ Knowledge of setup, operation, and maintenance of modern broadcast video production and editing equipment and software.

▪ Knowledge of current copyright laws for cable broadcasting, internet, and music licensing. ▪ Knowledge of branding and design.

▪ Knowledge of social media and optimizing content.

▪ Knowledge of pertinent regulations, policies, and procedures for the functional area of assignment.

▪ Knowledge of HIPAA, Public Records, Sunshine Law, FERPA, and other laws/regulations related to student and employee privacy, public information, and records retention.

▪ Knowledge of and experience with industry-standard equipment, materials, practices, computers, and applications.

▪ Ability to professionally and effectively respond to customer needs and requests for service or assistance.

▪ Ability to produce, write, voice, and edit non-linear short- and long-form video productions. ▪ Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, multi-task, and remain organized to complete time-sensitive jobs on or before deadline.

▪ Ability to work a flexible schedule which may include nights and weekends.

Hourly Rate: $20.18
