Job description
Performs a variety of duties in managing the daily operations of multiple, assigned Recreation centers or school-based community center facilities. Daily operations include staffing management, processing of registrations and cash handling, and facilitation of all scheduled activities, programs, sports, classes, special events, and summer camps for the community.
- Manages the operations of multiple recreation centers and/or school-based community centers facilities.
- Plans, implements, facilitate, coordinates and evaluates activities, special events, sports leagues, class programs, and summer camps for assigned locations.
- Processing of daily admissions, program registration forms, and daily management of cash handling controls and related administrative and office operations; maintains records and prepares reports. Makes daily deposits as needed.
- Prepares and administers program budget for assigned recreational activities, programs, and camps; purchasing of supplies to support the programs.
- Ensures that facilities are maintained and operated in a safe and secure condition; assists school administration in the security of facilities.
- Responsible for the recruitment, training, evaluating, and management of assigned part time staff, contract instructors, and volunteers.
- Reviews, approves and schedules requests for use of facilities permits, monitors school usage and prepares calendars.
- Plans, develops and distributes marketing and promotional information on programs at the centers.
- Evaluates and monitors offering and implement new programs based off research and quarterly feedback.
- Serves as customer service liaison; mediates conflict and enforce organizational policies and procedures.
- Performs other related job duties as assigned.
Bachelor’s degree in recreation, public administration, or related field. Two (2) years of experience in recreation management or related filed; or an equivalent combination of education, experience and training.

- Knowledge of effective methods and techniques of recreation center management.
- Knowledge of effective methods and practices of planning, developing, and implementing recreational programs.
- Knowledge of PC operations. Knowledge of effective methods of outreach and marketing
- Ability to carry out daily assignments, follow through on matters and uses independent judgment and training to take appropriate action to deal with standard recurring situations.
- Ability to plan, implement, coordinate and evaluate programs, camps, and special events
- Ability to perform administrative functions including budget, purchasing, facility management and personnel
- Ability to train and supervise part-time staff and volunteers.
- Ability to prepare and maintain records and reports.
- Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing
- Ability to evaluate safety issues in programs and facility management
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others encountered in the work.
