CPLC Community Schools offer high school students in low-income communities a culturally-relevant learning environment that caters to each student’s needs. We are a non-profit charter holder for two charter high schools in the Tucson Area.
OBJECTIVE AND POSITION SUMMARY
The MTSS & Assessment Coordinator will assist in all MTSS procedures across the district, including communicating with school site teams, developing training for school staff and teachers, providing resources in the area of MTSS and curricula, guiding school-based processes, coordinating, conducting, and analyzing all formal assessments and monitoring data.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND COMPETENCIES
- Master’s degree in education
- Minimum five years experience teaching, with a record of impacting student achievement and working successfully with students with the greatest needs.
- Proven ability to work cooperatively and effectively with colleagues, including creating and nurturing a professional community of adult learners.
- Demonstrated leadership and strong interpersonal skills, including giving and receiving constructive feedback.
- Proven ability to use student-level data to guide instructional decisions.
- Models continual improvement, demonstrates lifelong learning and applies new learning to help all students achieve.
- Demonstrates professional growth, including leadership and participation in a wide range of significant professional development activities.
- Knowledge of a multi-tiered system of support (MTSS) model, implementation of MTSS, and intervention strategies
- Experience designing and delivering professional development
- Ability to plan, organize, and work collaboratively with other teams
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to create positive relationships
- Strong organizational skills with excellent attention to detail
- Proficient in intervention management software and Microsoft Office programs, including PowerPoint, Word, and Excel
PRIMARY DUTIES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Work collaboratively with district administrators, school-based leadership teams, and teachers to facilitate the implementation of a multi-tiered system of supports (MTSS) at the district and school levels.
Monitor the fidelity of implementation of MTSS at school sites, including identifying students, delivering Tier 2 and 3 interventions, and monitoring progress.
Coach school sites on analyzing student needs and identifying research-based interventions across academics, behavior, and social-emotional learning (SEL).
Help establish data collection and analysis procedures through a data system to inform decision-making around student needs and district/school resource allocation.
Develop meeting cadences and agenda for the District MTSS Committee.
Coordinate and facilitate MTSS professional development and training for school-based and district staff.
Compile and report on the effectiveness of monthly interventions to improve district and school systems.
Develop positive working relationships with families, staff, and community members.
Supervises instructional and academic support specialists and ensures fidelity of implementation of MTSS at school sites.
Observe the work of teaching staff to evaluate performance and recommend changes that could strengthen teaching skills.
Conduct or participate in workshops, committees, and conferences designed to promote students' intellectual, social, and physical welfare.
Advise teaching and administrative staff in curriculum development, use of materials and equipment, and implementation of state and federal programs and procedures.
Recommend, order, or authorize the purchase of instructional materials, supplies, equipment, and visual aids designed to meet student educational needs and district standards.
Address public audiences to explain program objectives and elicit support.
Research, evaluate, and prepare recommendations for school systems' curricula, instructional methods, and materials.
Prepare grant proposals, budgets, program policies, and goals or assist in their preparation.
Prepare state reports regarding student achievement and reflect on progress toward school action plans.
Prepare or approve manuals, guidelines, and reports on state educational policies and practices for distribution to school districts.
Prepare, distribute, and analyze performance data to determine the effectiveness of instructional systems, courses, or materials.
Conduct needs and strategic learning assessments to develop the basis for curriculum development or update curricula.
Coordinate, conduct, and analyze all formal assessments within the district.
Coordinate with special education teachers to ensure accommodations for students with IEPs for all assessments.
May supervise a classroom when needed.
Participate in school outreach efforts and events.
Assist in all stakeholder communication efforts.
Participate in all instructional professional development opportunities.
Complete other duties as assigned.
