Job Summary:
True Health owns and operates two (2) mobile health units. A twenty-five (25) foot long medical unit will be pulled by a Ford F250. A thirty-five (35) foot long medical/dental unit will be pulled by a Ford F350. These units provide medical and dental care throughout the Central Florida community.
The Mobile Health Unit Driver is responsible for quality assurance, operational workflow, and unit maintenance in accordance with organizational standards.
Primary Functions:
- Safely drive the mobile unit in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations and all relevant traffic regulations.
- Perform mobile unit set-up, teardown, and preparation procedures.
- Perform vehicle checks before and after driving the units, i.e., check tire pressure, fluid levels, lights, etc.
- Perform daily vehicle maintenance before and after driving the units, i.e., cleaning the units, washing the units, emptying trash, etc.
- Operate diesel or gasoline-fueled generators and propane tanks to maintain backup power sources.
- Assist the manager in maintaining adequate supplies.
- Conduct and maintain cleaning procedures of the overall mobile unit.
- Participate with other team members in daily and weekly cleaning of the mobile unit.
- Make advance client contact to coordinate arrival time, location of the unit, time of the event, and ensure power/water hook-up.
- Coordinate with the Director of Facilities to schedule regular maintenance, repairs, inspections, etc.
- Other job responsibilities may be assigned based on the overall business need.
Secondary Functions:
- When the units are not in use, the mobile unit driver will aid the Facilities team in maintaining the health centers.
Education and Experience:
- Commercial Driver’s License preferred.
- Equivalent experience will be considered.
- Minimum two years' work experience operating mobile units preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Multilingual (English, Spanish, Creole/French) preferred.
- Ability to follow directions precisely with attention to detail.
- Ability to relate well to people.
- Ability to effectively talk and listen to patients, staff, and community partners.
- Ability to work evenings and weekends based on the overall business need.
- Ability to operate a vehicle in accordance with federal, state, and local regulations.
Additional Qualifications:
- Special screening prior to or during employment may be necessary.
- Clean Driving Record.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to work in a mobile health setting.
- Ability to work in a confined space.
- Ability to stand, walk or view a computer screen for extended periods of time.
- Ability to use hands and fingers to handle or feel.
- Ability to reach with hands or arms.
- Ability to perform repetitive hand and wrist motions for extended periods of time.
- Ability to lift and transport tables and boxes of materials.
- Ability to work inside or outside for outreach events.
