South College invites applications for the position of adjunct faculty member at the South College Atlanta campus in the area of Microbiology (lecture and lab).

The Adjunct Faculty Member will provide on campus instruction for courses needed on a quarter by quarter appointment (Fall, Winter, Spring, Summer). Sections are available in the day, evening, or on weekends.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Develop appropriate academic lectures and learning experiences that allow all students to achieve course objectives.
  • Ensure that all academic program requirements and forms of documentation are completed as required for each student and submitted per established deadlines
  • Provide appropriate and timely feedback to students.
  • Be reasonably accessible to students for questions and assistance.
  • Appropriately manage all classroom activities.
  • Submit accurate attendance/academic participation rosters as prescribed by the institution.
  • Maintain office hours at least 15 minutes before and after courses taught at the Atlanta campus.
  • Submit official grades at the end of each quarter for each course taught.
Requirements:

Qualifications

Candidates must evidence the following:

  • A minimum of an acceptable master’s or doctoral degree in the discipline, or an earned master’s or doctoral degree and satisfactory completion of 18 graduate semester credit hours (or 27 graduate quarter credit hours) in the discipline.
  • Previous experience with an online learning platform (e.g., Canvas, Blackboard, Moodle).
  • Excellence in postsecondary teaching preferred.
