Purpose: The primary purpose of this position is to assist Atlanta Postal Credit Union to live out our Mission, “To help our members achieve financial success by providing exceptional products and service.”

Summary: Develops and maintains relationships with eligible employer groups that meet the membership qualification guidelines established by APCU’s Board of Directors. Identifies opportunities and initiates activities to increase membership and the use of credit union services within each employer group. Serves as a role model for service excellence and professionalism.

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Deliver outstanding service to both internal and external members that is in alignment with our Service Promises.

2. Gains new groups, following guidelines established by the Board of Directors and management. Coordinates the introduction of credit union services at new groups. Introductions may include presentations to management, distribution of information, presentations to employees at staff meetings, employee orientations, on-site membership enrollment campaigns and other special events.

3. Develops and maintains relationships with groups by regularly scheduled contacts with key personnel.

4. Builds and maintains a network of liaisons within each sponsor group. Communicates with this group regularly through personal contacts and periodic written materials. Organizes occasional liaison appreciation rewards and functions.

5. Assist the Marketing Department with the development of support materials to use in member development activities.

6. Provides feedback to Marketing Department regarding sponsor group and member concerns, quality issues and product acceptance. Recommends solutions to problems, product enhancements, and operational changes when applicable.

7. Represents the credit union at designated group “community” or credit union related special events and programs. Promotes credit union staff involvement in these activities as appropriate.

8. Maintains accurate records of sponsor company statistics, contacts, and membership development activities. Prepares status reports and meets with manager frequently to review the reports and to plan for future activities.

9. Establishes and maintains information centers at group facilities and ensures on-site membership materials are at adequate levels and all information contained therein is current.

10.Understands credit union policies and procedures and ensures that all marketing related activities conform to applicable regulatory and Board mandated standards.

11.Performs other duties as assigned.

12.Comply with all aspects of BSA/AML and OFAC regulations as they relate to this position.

13.Other duties as assigned.


Desired Qualifications
:

1. Two years previous experience in professional sales or public relations environment.

2. Equivalent work experience in the field of marketing or advertising may be substituted if job responsibilities included presenting ideas to professional groups.

3. Previous financial institution experience is helpful in a member service or relationship banking role at the branch level.

4. Projects a professional image consistent with that of the credit union at all times when representing APCU and Center Parc Credit Union.

5. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are required to deal effectively with professional contacts at all organizational levels, both at APCU and Center Parc events. Must possess excellent public speaking skills to make effective, persuasive presentations to both large and small groups.

6. Excellent, accurate writing skills stressing creativity, composition, grammar, spelling and punctuation. 7. Ability to work independently, with a minimum of supervision.

8. Capacity to work well with others and to resolve problems effectively.

9. A valid driver’s license and a clean driving record are required. Use of a dependable personal vehicle is required.

10.Capacity to manage many responsibilities simultaneously.

11.Flexibility to deal with unexpected events, and occasionally attend meetings and events that may occur outside of regularly scheduled work hours.

12.Thorough knowledge of credit union operations, procedures, products, and philosophy.

13.Proficient in use of personal computer, particularly word-processing and spreadsheet programs such as Microsoft Word and Excel. Must be able to effectively use office machinery including a personal computer, telephone, calculator, copier and fax.

Physical Job Requirements: Continuous sitting for long periods of time while working on PC. Occasional standing/walking around. Frequent lifting of ten pounds. Occasional lifting up to thirty-five pounds (marketing materials). Frequent bending, squatting, carrying of marketing supplies/brochures from car to building for presentations. Occasional reaching above and below shoulder level. Frequent handling of paperwork related to various job-related tasks. Frequent grasping of marketing materials related to various tasks. Frequent finger dexterity while inputting to PC
