Job: Summary: The Medical Staff Credentials Coordinator is responsible for coordinating, monitoring and maintaining the credentialing and/or re-credentialing process. Facilitates all aspects of reappointment, monitoring and privileging for medical staff and allied health practitioners, and may assist, from time to time as needed, with the initial application process. Ensures compliance with the Medical Staff Bylaws and Joint Commission standards in regards to credentialing, while developing and maintaining a working knowledge of the State and Federal statutes, laws and regulations. Responsible for the accuracy and integrity of the credentialing and clinical privileging database system and for ensuring the timeliness of re-credentialing verification. Duties include the gathering, verification and evaluation of confidential healthcare provider credentials, as well as contacting and following up with Quality Management, clinical departments, and physician offices. Updates database with current information from reappointment applications. Follows the process to conclusion with letters from the Board of Trustees for reappointments, follow-up with practitioners and filing. Provides staffing to the Credentials Committee, and provides follow up with minutes, correspondence and projects emanating from the committee process. Provides administrative support to the department as required. Performs other duties as requested.

Specifications: High school diploma required, Associates Degree preferred. NAMSS certification preferred, or attained within one year of assuming this position. Echo expereince is preffered. Three to five years experience in hospital credentialing. Proficiency with credentialing software database. Must have excellent organizational, interpersonal and communication skills. Proficiency in the English language is required.
