We are currently hiring for a full time Medical Social Worker to join our skilled social services team. This position is 40 hours per week & is eligible for our full benefits package.

Voorhees Pediatric Facility (VPF) has grown into a nationally recognized pediatric specialty care center that offers 119 in-patient beds and the largest freestanding pediatric ventilator program in the country. VPF continues to be recognized as a leader in pediatric healthcare, and in 2013 VPF received the highest accreditation awarded by The Joint Commission. As a member of our Social Services team, you will be responsible for:

• Responsible and accountable for the provision of social work services to residents and their significant others.
• Facilitates coping and adjustment with the impact of illness/disability and extended care placement and achievement of maximum benefit from health care and community services.
• The Social Worker ensures that each resident is provided with family centered coordinated care and services to attain or maintain the highest practical level of biophysical, emotional, spiritual, and psycho-social well-being in accordance with the individualized comprehensive assessment and interdisciplinary plan of care.

The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications:

• Bachelor of Social Work Degree (Master of Social Work preferred) from an accredited school of Social Work education.
• Current New Jersey Certification or License to practice Social Work from the New Jersey Board of Social Work Examiners. (LCSW)
• Minimum of two years pediatric health care experience preferably with special health care needs.
• Computer literacy.
• Assessment skills.
• Collaborative Care Planning and Coordination.
• Advocacy.
• Community Resource Referral.
• Supportive Counseling/Education.
• Discharge Planning.
• Bilingual Preferred.
