Elmora Family Practice is currently seeking a bilingual [Spanish & English]* Medical Receptionist with Medical Assistant background [not required but a plus] who has experience in using EMR [Electronic Medical Record] systems to work for [FULL-TIME*] Monday through Friday. The office is closed weekends & major holidays. This office includes one Medical Director and 3 Nurse-Practitioners. Duties will include:

Receptionist:

  • Greet / Screen patients and visitors
  • Obtain patient information [Demographics, Insurance, etc.] prior to visit
  • Collect and input patient payment into EMR [Co-Pays, balances, etc.]
  • Assist with check-in and check-out of patients
  • Make sure all patients are scheduled for follow up visits before leaving the office
  • Answer phone calls and listen to all voice messages
  • Manage referrals and Prior-Authorizations for tests and procedures
  • Facilitate interdisciplinary patient care via communication with specialists offices, radiology centers, hospitals, long-term and acute care settings, pharmacies, etc.
  • Respect patients eight to privacy and confidentiality [Following HIPPA / OSHA protocols]

Medical Assistant:

  • Greet patients and visitors
  • Make sure all patient rooms are clean and prepped each day
  • Obtain clinical history and take vital signs from the patient
  • Perform procedures ordered by providers [EKG, CVP, etc.]
  • Give injections (B-12, ketorolac, triamcinolone, Flu vaccine etc.) using proper technique and documentation
  • Enter all information into the patients' chart
  • Maintain inventory of all medical supplies
  • Organize and scan all documents into patients' chart
  • Facilitate interdisciplinary patient care via communication with specialists offices, radiology centers, hospitals, long-term and acute care settings, pharmacies, etc.
  • Respect patients right to privacy and confidentiality [Following HIPPA / OSHA protocols]

Please be advised this is a high patient volume practice.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $15.00 per hour
