A LCMS Laboratory Technician is needed to help with the daily flow of the toxicology laboratory. The LCMS lab technician will help to prepare urine samples for analysis, review and release results and maintain proper documentation. Lab technician will also be responsible for maintenance of the LCMS/MS instrumentation. The ideal candidate will have experience working under potentially hazardous conditions. (i.e. pathogens/chemicals) & will be trained to maintain safety conditions within the laboratory. The overall goal for adding this position to the lab is to optimize procedures while maintaining production of reliable analytical results.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Prepare urine samples for testing and load specimen on the LCMS/MS instrumentation
• Prepare QC material, Calibrators, Mobile Phases, Needle Rinse, and Diluents for LCMS use
• Operate laboratory instruments and equipment and perform equipment maintenance according to the laboratory's standard operating procedures
• Perform review of data obtained on LCMSMS
• Release toxicology results
• Recognizes unusual patient results and identifies problems in analytical procedures/systems; responds with appropriate investigation and/or corrective action
• Troubleshoots assays and equipment which fail to perform adequately
• Observes established safety guidelines and maintains cleanliness of the laboratory
• Keep a meticulous and organized record of specimens, tests, instrument logs, and technical analyses
• Maintain stringent standards for quality, identifying any issues which might adversely impact the quality of test results and/or employee safety, and communicating these to the appropriate management representatives as necessary for the resolution.
• Participates in activities required to support all necessary licensure for the clinical laboratory, including quality management functions and on-site inspections of the laboratory.
• Order laboratory supplies
• Comply with the Standard Operating Procedures, health, and safety regulations
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment
• General cleaning of the laboratory space- breaking down boxes, putting away inventory, etc.
• Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications, Education, and Experience

• Must have an Associates or Bachelor’s Degree in one of the laboratory sciences or Medical Laboratory Science
• Minimum 1 year related LCMS laboratory experience and/or training or equivalent of combined education and experience.
• Knowledge of clinical toxicology preferred.
• Demonstrated proficiency in computer skills such as Microsoft Office and Laboratory Information Systems (LIMS)
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Strong understanding of good laboratory practices and regulatory compliance
