Job description
The Medical Education Coordinator is responsible for planning, overseeing and implementing programs for trainees, as well as managing continuing education opportunities for current employees. In addition, responsibilities include developing and evaluating of program effectiveness for students and medical education trainees.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Assists in problem-solving, management, project and event planning, and execution of goals and objectives.
  • Functions as a liaison among management, students, residents, employees and other medical professionals and departments
  • Responsible for overseeing training programs for employees, leading continuing education courses, helping coordinate programs, and engaging/ interacting with program participants
  • Supports departmental leadership as needed in other program requirements including streamlining current processes, recruiting, regulatory compliance and accreditation, and management of financial resources
  • Ensures compliance with national accreditation standards and hospital policies
  • Assists in planning, developing, and monitoring events to ensure effective and successful programs according to department needs
  • Compile and maintain confidential files
  • Effectively manage multiple projects/events and establish priorities with moderate supervision

PERFORMANCE STANDARDS AND SUCCESS INDICATORS
  • Satisfaction of management with performance and achievements based on performance evaluation.
  • Successful implementation of medical educational programs
  • Increased growth and visibility in research and medical education programs
  • Licensing, Certification and Accreditation status being in good-standing with no citations.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • High School diploma required. Associates or Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or Healthcare.
  • 2-4 years of experience in healthcare administration or related field, non-profit preferred
  • Excellent organizational, communication, interpersonal, analytical, problems solving, and time management skills
  • Credentialing certification or Medical Staff background, extremely desirable
  • Advanced proficiency in the operation of a personal computer, systems and application software required (MS Office, ADP, and Outlook)
  • Proven ability to meet deadlines and handle multiple projects simultaneously

Complexity:
Effectvely lead a team, assessing progress, identifying key issues or strengths and actively provide solutions or support. Be able to delegate and prioritize departmental workflow based off of volume, workforce, and deadlines. Ability to perform highly detailed work with sustained attention and ware while providing/obtaining information on numerous inquiries is paramount to success in this position. Ability to maintain confidentiality, professional discretion and ethical behavior.
