Medical billing company seeking a professional to fulfill an opening in our implementation, training, and client relationship department. As a critical member of our team, you will be expected to provide excellence in customer service, verbal, and written communications, maintain confidentiality and work as part of a team.
Candidates for this position will be responsible for medical billing for implementation for onboarding, training, and ongoing customer support for dental offices that are interested in billing procedures to medical insurance, including: Dental Sleep Medicine, Temporomandibular Joint Disorders, Accidental Dental, Implants, Oral Surgery, Oral Facial Pain, etc.
Medical Biller will work directly with our new customers across the entire implementation life cycle, starting with the transition from our sales team through go-live utilization. New clients often have little or no experience with working within the medical insurance model and often rely heavily on our expertise.
Implementation for new clients typically run three to six months, and involve a needs assessment, followed by establishing a set of complex workflows which must be executed for the client to be successful. This requires the candidate to gain a deep and comprehensive understanding of our EHR/PM software and the world of healthcare. Individuals in this role will consult with customer staff at all levels and assist with structuring individualized workflow based upon how the practice is managed. Deal with hot topics like, working with outside physicians, obtaining prescriptions, working with referrals, presenting financial responsibility to prospective patients, and working with medical billing software. You will also work with many departments such as the IT department, the internal billing team to ensure that claims are being processed correctly and that the providers are submitting the proper clinical documentation and ensuring that clients continue to make strides and move forward throughout the entire process.
The work environment is casual but highly professional, requiring quality work and individual initiative. Essential Functions
- Conduct implementation analysis and training sessions with clients (remotely and at client location) to facilitate solution configurations and interface set-up.
- Assess complex situations, seek collaborative solutions, and prepare and present recommendations.
- Synthesize knowledge of clinical/billing information systems and clinical billing practice workflow processes to collaboratively plan and carry out implementation activities.
- Analyze cross departmental impact of individual user or team system/workflow change requests, root-cause analysis, develop logical conclusions, and suggest appropriate work arounds to management to minimize cost impacts.
- Establish referenceable relationship with the client.
- Resolve client inquiries, maintaining ownership throughout resolution.
- Deliver solution configurations and end user training that drives adoption and customer satisfaction.
- Develop and maintain a high level of product and business knowledge.
Qualifications
- Ability to work independently and with a team in a fast-paced environment, prioritize and perform several tasks together without losing concentration.
- Knowledge of insurance cards, medical insurance terminology, medical benefits, and CPT and ICD-10 coding.
- Excellent typing and computer usage skills, including Microsoft Access, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Google Docs.
- Must possess good oral and written (English) communication skills.
- Must be well organized and detail oriented.
- Occasional overtime may be required and/or hours may be shortened as business needs dictate.
- Minimum of 1-year experience working with complex software applications as a super user, configuration, or support analyst, system administrator and/or trainer.
- Prior customer implementation related experience preferred.
- 3+ years of experience in EHR, healthcare billing and clinical practice knowledge, especially in the health or dental industry.
- A strong working knowledge of several different dental practice management systems including Dentrix, Eaglesoft & Practice Mate preferred.
- Train offices on the use of medical billing platforms including AdvancedMD, MediTouch, Medisoft and MicroMD with a heavy emphasis on AdvancedMD.
- Ability to assess customer and industry specific scenarios, workflows, and requirements to facilitate solutions in a collaborative manner.
- Ability to work effectively with individuals to identify solutions and manage competing or conflicting requests from management.
- Prior experience in an external client facing role strongly preferred.
- Demonstrate maturity and demeanor to establish immediate professional credibility with clients.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to deliver effective presentations and training covering complex information to audiences of all levels.
- Ability to multi-task while also being highly detail oriented and organized.
- Must be able to sit and be on the phone/computer for 2-3 hours at a time.
