The ideal candidate must possess excellent computer skills as we are an electronic medical records based practice. MAs at Colorado Kidney Care are part of a team of Medical Office Staff and as such are cross trained in all Front Office duties and collaborate as team of Medical Office Coordinators. Qualified candidate must have a minimum of two years of relevant experience in a similar medical office setting. This position will work at our office located in the Medical Center of Aurora and will need to travel to tour office located in Lone Tree at the Sky Ridge Medical Center as needed (for staff support). Our office hours are Monday-Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.
Pay Range: $20 - $22 per hour, commensurate with experience.
Employment at Colorado Kidney Care is contingent on successful completion of pre-employment screening and background check which includes motor vehicle record.
COVID-19 Vaccine required for employment in healthcare settings per Denver County Public Health and Safety Order.
This position entails heavy computer and administrative duties for the front office paired with some hands-on MA duties; qualified candidate must be competent and enjoy administrative duties as well as customer service, including but not limited to the following:
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Greet patients and perform Check-in and Check-out procedures in an accurate and timely manner
- Process patient payments and perform billing payment entry
- Prepare payment batches and maintain accurate office money and cash transactions
- Schedule patient appointments
- Perform medication, test and procedure authorizations
- Distribute notes and information to outside providers/entities when needed
- Prepare for patient office visits and prepare lab work in patient charts
- Maintain appointment waitlist and schedule waitlist appointments whenever possible
- Scan and attach patient medical records and administrative documents in EMR
- Utilize and maintain office communication through Outlook, calendars and task reminder
- Review and process incoming faxes, and flow labs that are not electronically sent
- Make patient reminder calls for lab work two weeks prior to patient appointments
- Cross coverage of other duties as needed & other duties as assigned
Required Experience:
- High school diploma or GED
- Professionalism in appearance, behavior, and communication
- Expected to communicate in a precise and clear manner, verbally and in writing
- Works with others in a cooperative and supportive manner
- Displays patience and compassion in all patient interactions
- Ability to effectively multitask in a fast paced environment
- Possess an intermediate skill level with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Ability to navigate the internet proficiently
- Proficient with general math skills
- Expected to function at a high level of efficiency without constant supervision and also work as part of a team
- Possess a valid driver’s license with a good MVR
Valued but not required skills and experience (optional):
- Experience with EMR is preferred but not required, if computer skills are strong
- Certificate in Medical Assistant and /or knowledge and skills for Medical Assistant role is plus
- Spanish language proficiency is a plus and bi-lingual pay differential is offered.
Colorado Kidney Care is under Denver City & County jurisdiction and as such full COVID-19 vaccination is required upon hire.
