Effective January 1, 2023 and expires February 28, 2023. Applicable only for MA positions in the Centers of Excellence and Maryland Family Care practices, of which this role applies to.


The Medical Assistant II demonstrates knowledge of the principles of growth and development appropriate to the ages of patients served by their department. This position assists the MD/NP/PA in perfoming procedures. Operates, maintains and calibrates all equipment. Ability to supervise Medical Assistant I. Must be willing to perform job standards and provide excellent customer service to staff, patients and visitors in a manner consistent with Mercy Medical Centers' Service Excellence Standards, Mission and Values.
Qualifications:
Education and Work Experience:
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • A minimum of three years experience as a Medical Assistant or EMT-Paramedic or Military Medic experience.
License Requirements:
  • N/A
Certification Requirements:
  • Certification from an accredited Medical Assistant program preferred
  • CPR certification preferred

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Computer proficiency and technical aptitude with the ability to utilize one or more of the following:
  • Microsoft Word, Power Point, Excel
  • Microsoft Outlook
  • Meditech (if applicable to position)
  • Epic (if applicable to position)
  • Performance Manager/NetLearning
  • Must be able to read, write, and speak the English language in an understandable manner.
  • Must be able to work independently and possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.
  • Must possess the ability to effectively communicate and deal tactfully with other personnel, visitors, patients, physicians, customers, and
the general public.
  • Must be flexible, have personal integrity, and the ability to function effectively as a team with other employees.
  • Must be able to follow written and oral instructions.

  • May be required to travel to satellite offices
