The Medical Assistant has the desire to make a positive impact on the lives of patients. The Medical Assistant perform routine clinical and administrative tasks to keep the office of physicians and other health practitioners running efficiently.

Essential Functions of the Medical Assistant:

• Demonstrates competency in necessary skills to perform a variety of administrative and patient related duties to ensure quality care to the adolescent, adult and geriatric patient.
• Interviews patients in a polite and courteous manner.
• Engages, promotes self care and provides encouragement to the patient.
• Responsible for taking accurate vital signs which include, but are not limited to: temperature, pulse, respirations, blood pressures, height and weight. Must be able to enter this information efficiently into the computer system.
• Responsible for preparing the patient chart prior to the visit. Ensuring that all test results, hospital records and consult letters are in the record. Identifies any quality gaps and flags them for the provider.
• Responsible for performing tests such as: EKGs, PFTs, audio tests, vision tests and must set up any other tests requested by the physician.
• Responsible for communicating test results to the patient under the direction of the provider as well answering questions that the patient may have.
• Responsible for giving injections and performing venipuncture as needed.
• Responsible for spinning blood samples and completing lab paperwork as needed.
• Responsible for assisting clinicians during examinations and any other patient related duties.
• Screens and redirects telephone calls and walk-in visitors.
• Organizes, maintains, and updates files/data bases.
• Coordinates scheduling of appointments.

Schedule: Monday to Friday, 7:30 am - 5:00 pm, with one evening per week. Occasional Saturday morning rotation.

Grand View Health has Medical Assistant positions available at our Grand View Practices located in Harleysville, Hatfield, Lansdale, Chalfont, Souderton, Sellersville and Quakertown.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $17.71 - $23.00 per hour
