We are seeking a Medical Accounts Receivable Representative (fully remote in the Maryland area). This position is responsible for the timely and accurate processing of health insurance claims with various insurance companies.

Administrative/Clerical

  • Research authorizations, work with providers, and manage pended claims in a timely manner.

  • Maintain a solid balance of health insurance claims that are 35 average days outstanding.

  • Identify non-payment trends or procedural roadblocks and report same to Supervisor as needed.

  • Prepare special claim projects; maintains project work/communication logs, uses resources effectively, arrange information and files in a useful manner and meets project deadlines.

  • Compose and prepare documentation for appeals.

  • Process insurance carrier correspondence in a timely and professional manner.

  • Keep current on carrier(s) web site information that relates to the practice.

  • Perform other office duties as assigned by manager.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS


EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum High School Diploma or GED required.

  • Minimum of five (5) years Medical Billing and insurance claim filing experience.

  • Familiarity with medical billing software.


KNOWLEDGE/COMPETENCIES & SKILLS:

  • Proficient knowledge of Medical Terminology; ICD-9 and CPT-4 Codes.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word

  • Accurate and efficient data entry skills.

  • Excellent customer service skills.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Proficient computer software and database skills.

  • Strong attention to detail.

  • Ability to multi-task and work in a fast paced environment.
