MEDIA SPECIALIST The Media Specialist provides assistance to the Media Director in research, planning and placement of all clients’ projects. The MS assists in establishing appropriate media and budgets for clients, and establishes good relationships with all media reps. From time to time, when the MS is unavailable to answer the client’s questions, or by request of the MD, the MS gathers the information and calls the client to respond. In support of the MD, the MS assists in the preparation of presentation materials, media plans and/or grids, or full media proposals. The MS attends to all administrative functions and paperwork required to carry out assigned media functions. Reports to the Media Director. DUTIES: Client Planning
  • Makes timely placement of all media according to schedules.
  • Issues insertion orders for each and every insertion placed (making sure that a hard copy of the order accompanies the artwork).
  • Establishes deadlines for needed materials and reports deadlines to the Creative, Production and Account Services departments.
  • Enters media schedules into the computer and issues all media reports.
  • Alerts Media Director/Account Services of special media offers/placement opportunities, etc.
Department
  • Assists in media planning functions, as required by the Media Director (MD).
  • Provides research for media planning, including: calling publications and other media to obtain information, looking through media kits to obtain information, meeting with media representatives one-on-one, talking with trade associations to obtain industry-specific marketing data, etc.
  • Compiles and interprets media data and statistics.
  • Responsible for establishing and maintaining goodwill and working relationships with the media supplier base.
  • Promptly approves all media invoices to be forwarded to client for payment.
  • Immediately issues tear sheets to accounting to be mailed to client with corresponding invoices.
  • Maintains all resource and media files, updating constantly.
  • Maintains updated media insertion orders in client books (cancellations, date, size changes, etc.) and distributes the updated orders.
  • Constantly maintains media, client and tear sheet files.
  • Issues agency media reports when requested.
Accounting and bookkeeping experience a plus!
Position is located in our Shreveport office.
