About the Role:

For the media relations assistant position, the person will be responsible for writing, editing and designing press releases for Giants baseball news, responsible for production of media guide and media materials, stat coordination, maintaining the department's official website (sfgiantspressbox.com), creatively come up with feature story ideas to promote the Giants athletes and coaches, manage press operations at home events, arrange interviews between media and coaches, general day-to-day media relations duties and other assigned tasks.

• You'll get to do a lot of writing such as press releases, game notes and working on the yearly media guide along with other fun projects to help promote the San Francisco Giants.
• This job entails a lot of writing, talking and watching of baseball.
• You will play a key role in answering questions in the press box and assisting media members and broadcasters with various requests.
• You will have a unique ability to work with every member of our small department and get the opportunity to experience each role within the department.

Qualifications

• Ability to learn quickly in a fast-paced environment requiring critical thinking, multitasking, and organization skills.
• Must be flexible to travel as required and work non-traditional hours.
• Great at building personal relationships with members of the department, media, broadcasters and members of the different business and baseball operations departments of the organization.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Previous experience working for a sports team or with media members is a plus.
• Familiarity with appropriate software (Microsoft Word, Excel, Adobe Products, including Indesign).
• Abel to be successful in a diverse environment.
• Knowledge of navigating websites such as Baseball Reference, FanGraphs Baseball Savant & Stats, Inc.

At the San Francisco Giants, we carefully consider a wide range of factors when determining compensation, including your background and experience. These considerations can cause your compensation to vary. We expect the base salary for this position to be in the range of $60,000 to $70,000 and will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience and other factors the San Francisco Giants consider relevant to the hiring decision Additionally, this role might be eligible for bonus or incentive awards.
