Location: Midland, TX
Job type: Temporary (2 year project)
Summary:
- Project involves converting rental compressors from gas driven to electrical driven. There will be no on-skid replacements, so engineering work would involve laying a new pad, placing new rental skid (driver + compressor), incorporating a vapor recovery unit, making up mechanical & utility connections, supplying power & controls (probably upgraded power lines & substations), and removing old rental compressor skid.
- This work requires as much leadership and knowledge of coordinating an engineering design as it does technical background
Qualifications
- Mechanical/Machinery Engineer – 15+ yrs experience
- heavy rotating equipment/compression
- Demonstrated leadership experience having done a similar role before
- Technical - strong knowledge of rotating equipment, in particular heavy duty electric turbines, compressors, large pumps, and vibration monitoring systems, vapor recovery units, process controls, seals, machine efficiency.
- Knowledge of condition monitoring, maintenance strategies, etc.
- Experience with machinery in the 500 horsepower to 3000hp range.
- Has interacted with the likes of Ingersoll Rand, Solar, Caterpillar, Siemens, Elliott, Baker Hughes, MHI Compressors.
- Leadership experience: able to facilitate progression of a team through complex analysis or reviews.
- Leverages effective interpersonal and communication skills; highly collaborative. Someone who has managed and overseen the work of a group of people toward a common goal. In this case, someone who has managed people doing calculations, modeling, spec writing, assessment, comparative analysis, etc.
- Well versed in engineering discipline design, quality management, and management of change.
- BIG PLUS for someone knowledgeable in mechanical piping design as well.
- BIG PLUS for being Knowledgeable about air emissions.
- Shows enthusiasm, integrity, and problem-solving skills other than technical skills.
- Able to set objectives, delegate to others, and monitor progress.
- Ideally, this could be demonstrated with a previous role with an engineering house, an operator/OFS supplier, or with an OEM (Solar, Siemens, etc. for machinery)
Job Type: Temporary
Pay: $75.00 - $85.00 per hour
