Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in a related engineering major with typically a minimum of 3 years of related experience; Master’s degree in similar disciplines with a minimum of 1 year of related experience; or PhD in similar disciplines with a minimum of 0 years of experience.

  • Recently completed coursework providing an understanding and application of standard principles, theories, concepts and techniques in Mechanical Engineering or related.

  • General knowledge of applicable industry and/or academic practices and standards in related to Mechanical Engineering.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to work in a team environment.

  • Prior internship/volunteer experience in related disciplines.

  • Participation in student/volunteer organizations.

  • Strong analytical skills.

Responsibilities:

Our entry level Mechanical Engineers have the outstanding opportunity to build the future of exploration. You'll be a part of mechanical design, fabrication, and testing, research, technology development, and creation of sophisticated mechanical, thermal, and propulsion systems for spacecrafts going to the furthest reaches of our universe.

Our Mechanical Engineers contribute in the following ways:

  • Design engineering and drafting

  • Design data management and control

  • Maintaining hardware standards, testing standards, and design processes for flight hardware

  • Computer aided engineering solutions for mechanical design and analysis

  • Materials analysis, characterization, and testing

  • Mechanical and electronic fabrication

  • Environmental testing

Opportunities include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Spacecraft Mechanical Engineering

  • Propulsion, Thermal, & Materials Engineering

  • Payload & Small Spacecraft Mechanical Engineering

  • Mechanical Fabrication & Test
