In this position you will be part of R&D team in San Jose as a mechanical engineer developing ATE products for the customers who utilize Advantest's Premium SOC Test Solution (the 93K IC Test platform) to achieve their success.
We are looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer to assist project technical leads with all aspects of mechanical design and product development of semiconductor automated test equipment. This engineer will primarily work in Solidworks and Creo Direct Modeling to design mechanical parts and assemblies, generate associated drawings and documentation, and perform FEA to analyze mechanical designs. This engineer will also assist project technical leads in planning and executing DoEs during the investigation phase of product development. Furthermore, this engineer will build and test prototypes during the validation and qualification phase of products.
Responsibilities include:
- Assist project technical leads with mechanical design support, including 3d part and assembly modeling, part and assembly drawing generation.
- Assist project technical leads with planning and executing DoEs.
- Prepare and present technical presentations of design concepts, design reviews and DoE results.
- Assist project technical leads with the planning and executing of design validation and product qualification activities. Thisincludes hands-on activities such as building and testing prototypes.
- Assist project technical leads with NPI support activities, such as product structure development and design data input into WindChill.
- Assist project technical leads with initiating and executing FEA in CAD.
Requirements:
- BS in Mechanical Engineering
- Exposure to 3D CAD modeling and 2D drawing generation with any commercial CAD platform
- Experience planning and executing DoEs
- Knowledge of Error Analysis
- Willing to be hands-on (working with tools, etc.)
- Willingness to work within a diverse and global team
- Willingness to travel overseas
Additional Skills Preferred (but not required):
- 1 or 2 years experience as a Mechanical Engineer
- Experience with Solidworks
- Experience with Creo Direct Modeling
- Experience with WindChill
- Knowledge of OTS parts (fasteners, bearings, etc.)
- IC manufacturing equipment or ATE experience
- Knowledge of semiconductor industry
