What you will do:
Duties include both administrative and clinical responsibilities such as greeting patients, checking patients in/out, scheduling appointments, handling high call volume, assisting with procedures, performing phlebotomy, and other basic medical assistant duties as requested by the Providers, Team Leaders, or Health Center Manager, all while providing upstanding care and respect to our patients.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Register new patients and prepare the patient chart
• Coordinates, maintains and documents patient flow in electronic health record
• Checks patients into their appointments
• Conduct confirmation calls for next day appointments
• Checks vital signs, takes chief complaints, properly and accurately documents in the patient’s electronic health record, and prepares patient to see provider
• Participates in patient care teams and applicable meetings
• Completes patient referrals to ensure continuity of care
• Administers Immunizations
• Calls in prescriptions to local pharmacies with the authorization of the provider
• Accurately records and reviews patient’s medical history
• Draws blood when requested
• Performs blood sugar tests when necessary
• Assists with exams, treatments, and obtaining reports from other medical providers as needed
• Orders and maintains supplies and equipment for examination rooms
• Completes other duties as requested by the Provider, Team Leader, or Health Center Manager

What you will need:

• High School Diploma or GED REQUIRED
• Completion from an accredited Medical Assistant Program REQUIRED
• Experience in a medical office setting PREFERRED
• Bilingual in Spanish PREFERRED
• Ability to work effectively with all levels of care team and other colleagues
• A positive attitude
• Remain in accordance with HIPPA
• Ability to use good reasoning and judgment

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $17.00 - $18.00 per hour
