The Materials Supervisor supports the inventory and materials function by leading the Materials Team and coordinating activities for storing, issuing, and maintaining inventory. Responsible for the administration of assignments, while conducting a variety of duties towards meeting the team’s goals and business objectives. The Materials Supervisor will have the ability to organize and schedule daily activity and help team members meet individual and company objectives. Attention to detail and the ability to prioritize materials activities are extremely important as is the ability to multi-task. Responsibilities include interacting with co-workers, kitting, maintaining inventory, material inspections, daily cycle counting and maintaining company records.
Specific Responsibilities
- Ensures that inventories are secure, properly identified and readily accessible
- Manage all inventories including outside the stockroom and work in process
- Daily cycle counts, ability to reconcile inventory discrepancies, FIFO management
- Conducts physical inventory counts and reconciles results with inventory records
- Completes analyses of inventory levels, and coordinates with production and other functional areas for requirements
- Maintains inventory records in accordance with established systems and control procedures
- Coordinates and communicates with other departments to resolve and close actions
- Generates required documentation or reports and assists in tracking department performance towards goals and objectives
- Manage kitting process utilizing best practices
- Ability to kit materials for manufacturing floor; identifying material shortages and working with purchasing to expedite missing items
- Other responsibilities as assigned
- Communicates effectively through phone, e-mail and correspondence, while maintaining a professional manner
- Impeccable organizational skills with labeling & identifying materials and maintaining a clean working environment
- Regular, consistent, and punctual attendance is required
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Supervises 7 to 9 employees in the warehouse area in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Education: High School Diploma or GED
Years’ Experience: 2 years or more of relevant experience
Required Skills:
- Knowledge and experience in inventory and materials management processes and the ability to coordinate activities for a team
- Excellent internal and external customer service skills
- Strong attention to detail, good organizational skills and the ability to prioritize with changing situations
- Ability to solve typical problems by evaluating and selecting solutions from established options
- Good interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills to drive tasks to completion
- Proficient in Oracle and Microsoft Office
Computer Skills:
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Oracle software and Microsoft software.
Language Skills:
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
Mathematical Skills:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
