POSITION SUMMARY:

The Material Handler reports to the Printing Shift Supervisor and is responsible for delivering packing supplies to the Printing production floor from the Warehouse, and to deliver skids to the Warehouse. This position requires an extensive amount of walking, standing, and physical movement.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITES:

• Stack, wrap, and deliver completed molded skids using a pallet jack, ensuring the boxes are placed on the skid as per the packing specifications
• Tightly wrap skids of up to five stacked boxes, ensuring skids are sturdy and ready for transport
• Create Pallet IDs and documentation for all skids of products produced
• Perform Printing production MP transaction scanning
• Deliver the wrapped skid to the warehouse for storage using an electrical pallet jack
• Assist in transporting products to and from the Warehouse
• Keep records of pallet ID created during MP transaction for tracking purposes
• Replace all packing supplies at the scheduled machines by following machine instructions and completing the supply sign-off sheet.
• Replenish empty skids on the production floor
• Remove broken or damaged skids to the warehouse
• Replenish the tape machine when it is empty.
• Keep records of corrugate boxes, liner bags and other products brought to production floor for traceability
• Complete Line Clearance during product change
• Collect purge and drool twice during the shift
• Collect scrap bags from the production floor and place in appropriate bins
• Clear scrap products from machine areas and place them into scrap bins
• Recharge the battery of the electric pallet jack when low
• Perform daily checks on the pallet jack and keep records, reporting any issues to the supervisor
• Perform other duties as assigned

SKILLS/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

Educational Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent

Minimum Experience/Field: Previous experience handling the electric pallet jack would be an asset

Licenses/Permits Required: Certified in operating a walkie pallet jack is an asset.

Communication Skills: Fluent in English with good verbal and written communication skills

Physical Requirements: Must be able to perform the Physical Activity Demands listed below

• Must have the ability to lift more than 20 pounds, stand and walk for long periods of time
• The Material Handler position includes reaching above and below shoulder height, kneeling, bending, and repetitive movements such as gripping, grasping, pushing and pulling

Pay: $14.00 - $16.00 per hour
