Please note that individual total compensation for this position will be determined at the Company's sole discretion and the wage range for this role considers a wide range of factors including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. At SNAHC, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $217,273.82-293,958.70

Position Summary:
Sacramento Native American Health Center is seeking to hire a Physician to provide direct patient care as part of our Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) Program, Three Rivers to Recovery, which is focused on providing high-quality, patient centered care for those dealing with opioid use and substance use disorders. This MAT Physician reports to the Medical Director or designee and has experience delivering opioid use disorder treatment in an ambulatory or community clinic setting. This MAT Physician is able to manage complex patient needs, to coordinate psychiatric and behavioral health evaluations, and to develop treatment plans for patients with opioid use and substance use disorders. This MAT Physician will be a member of our multidisciplinary services team of Primary Care Clinicians and Physicians, License Clinical Social Workers, Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselors, and Mental Health Providers.
Essential Functions:
- Practices within the scope of the California Board of Medicine practices and under the oversight of the Medical Director or designee, and within organizational guidelines.
- Provides direct medical for the Medication Assisted Treatment Program.
- Provides complete, comprehensive, person-centered outpatient care for patients including health examinations and facilitating treatment of medical conditions.
- Makes appropriate referrals to both internal disciplines of the health and/or external agencies for additional services required, which may include additional behavioral health, psychiatric, and substance use disorder services.
- Collaborates across departments to provide continuity of care for the population receiving services from the health center.
- Participates in patient panel reviews and actively contributes to the formulation and implementation of patient treatment plans.
- Provides clinical consultation to other physicians and advanced practice clinicians as clinically indicated.
- Provides timely documentation in the Electronic Health Record (EHR), accurately detailing the patient care plan.
- Provides clear written and verbal communications to patient and staff, maintaining a culture of dignity and respect.
- Participates in various administrative/clinical staff meetings to include, but not be limited to, Continuous Quality Improvement Committee, clinic meeting, general staff meetings, case conference/management, and/or administrative meetings when appropriate.
- Communicates with care team members involved with each patient’s plan of care.
- Participates in quality program as directed by clinical leadership.
- Occasionally may participate in public relations functions on behalf of and by request of SNAHC.
- Complies with Federal, State and organizational productivity standards, that remain consistent with agency goals.
- Complies with all state and federal laws and regulations, as they pertain to position including HIPAA, sexual harassment, scope of practice, OSHA, etc.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Must have graduated from an accredited school of medicine, successfully completed an accredited residency program, be currently California licensed plus Board certified or Board eligible in Family Practice/Internal Medicine.
- Current DEA license.
- DATA 2000 Buprenorphine Waiver allowing for the care of at least 100 and up to 275 individuals.
- Provider agrees to stay certified and ready to provide all services required by CMS to serve Medicaid/Medicare patients.
- ICD-10 Trained and Certified with the ability to chart visits comprehensively and complete E&M coding in compliance with medical coding standards.
- Experience with Nextgen or other electronic health record system.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Care and compassion in working with low income, indigent, and/or substance abusing individuals; Skill in working with people of varied social, ethnic, and economic backgrounds.
- Experience in a nonprofit and community clinic setting.
