JOB SUMMARY

Advance knowledge and expertise used to solve complex technical issues. Serves as an expert resources to others. Responsible for ongoing operation of routine plant operations and first responder to routine maintenance calls. Responsible for all routine inspections, repairs, replacements and adjustments to the equipment and building surface located in their assigned zone to assure optimal safety and compliance with medical center and quality standards. Responsible for the complex systems throughout the Hamilton Healthcare System. Performs at the very highest skilled craftsman levels by mastering multiple crafts (i.e. refrigeration, HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical) with full responsibility for project completion. Relies on experience and judgement to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of complicated tasks. A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required. Ensures compliance to all OSHA, TJC, ADA, local, state, and federal regulations governing healthcare organizations are adhered too during the installation of new real property medical and industrial plant equipment and service. Must be able to assess the assigned task and turn in the appreciate documentation for ordering supplies associated with assigned task. Responsible for the ordering and stocking of materials needed for the completion of work orders and preventative maintenance.

Occasionally works in hot, noisy areas. Requires flexible work schedule, weekend and/or on-call work. Ability to conceptualize complex electrical, electronic, mechanical, plumbing, and HVAC systems for maintenance and repair. Must be able to adjust to changing tasks and make some independent judgments on the repair of malfunctioning equipment.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Associate Degree, Technical School Certification and/or equivalent work experience.

Licensure: Preferred EPA universal Freon Recovery Licenses.

Experience: Requires more than seven (7) years of direct work related experience to include boilers, HVAC and refrigeration equipment, plumbing systems, electrical systems, electrical systems, experience in project management and technical supervision.
