Marketing Specialist
Job Summary: Support Fine Chemicals Division with inspiring, informative, well-organized content that can be delivered to clients and put into the context of specific brands and product categories in order to answer customer requests, provide strategic proposals and fragrance direction. Must be a good collaborator with strong presentation skills and a creative flair for written and visual communication. Interest in pop culture and niche markets is necessary to identify emerging trends that can be translated into innovative proposals for a given product category and and/or brand.
Essential Job Functions
:
- Create and deliver informative and inspiring presentations and scent-driven proposals with brand relevancy to local and multi-national customers.
- Pro-actively inspire and inform internal teams of emerging trends, notable product launches, and market shifts and translate to olfactive and product opportunities.
- Maintain awareness of category dynamics including new launches of interest, brand activity and product development.
- Support and help guide strategic initiatives set by management and the commercial team.
- Develop a general olfactive awareness in order to support submission naming, ingredient call-outs and story-telling.
- Apply internally-developed technologies to new product recommendations with appropriate consumer-facing language.
- Work within the Marketing community to generate new ideas and encourage knowledge sharing and cross-category fertilization.
- Additional responsibilities as deemed by Department head.
Position Qualifications
- College degree (Marketing, Advertising, Communications, Chemistry or related)
- 3+ years brand, category, Fine Chemicals, Catalysts or Pharma industry marketing experience
- Technical science background is highly preferred
- Excellent oral and written communication abilities.
- Strong aptitude in Powerpoint, other presentation software and Photoshop is a plus.
- Must have public speaking/presentation expertise.
- Must be very detail oriented, work at a faster than average pace, and possess a service oriented attitude.
- Excellent organizational, interpersonal and language skills required.
- Must be able to work well independently under pressure and have the ability to work effectively as a member of a team.
