Job Summary

Under general direction, develops, writes, maintains and edits a variety of marketing/advertising and communications materials to attract and grow the district’s patient base and attract and recruit prospective new employees. Ensures content and materials produced are appropriate to the District’s brand strategy with respect to quality, consistency, cost and timing.


Job Specific Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assists in the development of marketing campaigns and content to support the District’s strategic plan and drive growth. Ensures marketing and communications content supports Summit Pacific’s brand strategy and is consistent with the District’s mission, vision, and values.
  • Designs attractive and professional marketing materials in accordance with Summit Pacific’s brand strategy, that can be distributed in a timely and economical manner.
  • Writes/develops, designs and edits a variety of marketing and advertising materials, including items such as employee recruitment materials, community newsletters, patient brochures, mass emails, flyers, community presentations, video scripts, webpage content, and print and digital advertisements. Assists in maintaining Summit Pacific website. Assists in video and photography shoots.
  • Prepares flyers, brochures and other marketing collateral using approved templates. Creates new templates to be used in the department and by other staff.
  • Prepares kits with swag, linens and collateral materials for other employees and departments that are attending trade shows, conferences, hosting event booths, etc.
  • Assists in the development and implementation of social media campaigns to that accomplish specific goals and objectives. Social media campaign objectives may include, but are not limited to, educating viewers, highlighting the district’s accomplishments and employees, and recruiting potential new employees.
  • Monitors and analyzes marketing activities and campaigns to assess impact; assists in reporting results.
  • Helps identify marketing trends and opportunities for new and/or innovative approaches for communications, advertising/marketing.
  • Performs special projects and other related duties as assigned.

Organizational Responsibilities

In addition to the duties and responsibilities listed above, all employees are expected to adhere to Summit Pacific behavior and patient experience standards, comply with policies, procedures, and regulatory guidelines; and act in an ethical, professional, respectful, and collaborative manner.


Required Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in communication, public relations, marketing or related field.
  • Two years of directly-related professional work experience preferred, including newspaper-style writing and social media campaigns.

Required Licenses, Certifications and/or Registrations

  • None

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

  • Knowledge of and experience with graphic design and best layout practices preferred for both print and digital media.
  • Advanced writing and editing skills. Ability to write newspaper-style articles, press releases, and professional brochures.
  • Working knowledge of and experience with various social media outlets including Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn, as well as mass email dissemination software.
  • Knowledge of webpage development and content management.
  • Strong verbal communication and professional presentation skills including the ability to publicly articulate the position and agenda of the district.
  • Demonstrated project management skills.
  • Advanced computer skills and ability to learn and effectively use a variety of software/technology solutions, including, but not limited to, Microsoft (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Publisher), Adobe Creative Cloud (Illustrator, InDesign, Audition and Premiere Pro).
  • Ability to cultivate effective working relationships and work in collaboration with providers, other healthcare professionals, caregivers, and patients.
  • Ability to perform a wide variety of assignments that require the use of independent judgment, problem-solving, organization, prioritization, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule with occasional long hours and night/weekend commitments.
  • Must have appropriate transportation and ability to travel to various locations both inside and outside the district.

Pay range of $29.90 - $41.73 per hour depending on experience.
