About this position:

You will assist with promotional programs, acquiring materials, and implementing necessary activities to enable the credit union to accomplish its goals. You will also help with staff development, public relations, member education, and membership surveys. A bachelor's degree in Marketing or a business-related field or equivalent work experience is preferred. Two to three years Marketing experience in a similar industry and proficiency with Microsoft Office products is required. You must be knowledgeable of credit union policies and procedures and have excellent communication and interpersonal skills. High levels of attention to detail, creativity and the ability to focus are also a must.

The Marketing Specialist is primarily responsible for the following:

  • Deliver service to both coworkers and members that is in alignment with the credit union's Service Promise: Giving it all we've got, every day and everywhere.
  • Meet all established service goals as measured by the Internal Service Survey.
  • Assist with development of marketing plans and strategies to generate awareness, grow new membership and increase current member's products and services through creative marketing campaigns, including structure for reporting campaign effectiveness, conversion rate to help shape future marketing strategies. Ensure campaigns meet and are within regulatory compliance.
  • Write, edit and publish content for website, blog, video, social media posts/campaigns, email campaigns, and other digital traditional channels. Must possess some basic web design and HTML skills and be willing to learn more.
  • Support the graphic design needs of the credit union.
  • Maintain strong vendor relationships to ensure on-time delivery, cost containment and high-quality accuracy of finished products.
  • Assist the department in promoting a positive image for the credit union that projects brand recognition to current and potential members.
  • Proactively research competitor and industry trends. Conduct market research to find answers about consumer habits and trends.
  • Assist with staff apparel store for credit union brand standards.
  • Assist with copy and production of the eNewsletter, Newsletter, Brochures, push collateral cards, and Direct Mailers.
  • May initiate and follow through on media advertising (radio, billboard, newspaper, online advertising).
  • Assist in credit union communications, including public and member relations and press releases.
  • Assists in the planning, organization and implementation of internal and external marketing promotional events, such as the Annual Meeting, Member Appreciation events, grand openings and members events.
  • May represent Marketing department at various credit union committee meetings.
  • May be assigned to make direct calls outside the credit union to improve Marketing/Public Relations.
  • Cross train on other departmental functions as needed to support the workflow process.
  • Assist with graphic design for various channels that include branch TV, branch posters, website graphics/content, advertisements, etc.
  • Update website content, graphics, add calendar of events, etc.
  • Manage email marketing program, maximizing engagement and tracking results.
  • Assist with youth programs for the credit union.
  • Work on a team with social media to implement new digital and online marketing strategies including engagement plans for the e credit union's social media sites (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn): schedule posts, monitor responses, assists in crisis communication as needed on social media.
  • Respond to member feedback/comments received through social and web based platforms, and at community events.
  • Assists other Marketing Specialist in daily activities that include graphic design, project/event planning, etc.
  • Edit own and team members' work for clarity, accuracy, punctuation and ability to alight with marketing and advertising objectives as well as the Credit Union's advertising principles, overall tone and copy style guide.
  • Assist in photography, video and graphic design that can be utilized on website and social media.
  • Assist Community Affairs department with credit union school branch program as needed.
  • Teach Junior Achievement classes at area schools.
  • Present Jolt Brand Camp during new staff orientation.

A successful Marketing Specialist will also possess the following skills and abilities:

  • Proficiency with PC/Microsoft Office products and other misc. office equipment.
  • Software knowledge in areas such as Google Analytics, Adobe Photoshop
  • Knowledge of credit union operations, products and services.
  • Ability to work at a rapid pace.
  • Must be able to type/enter data and analyze information.
  • Requires good concentration and accuracy.
  • Interpersonal skills required to handle all types of members, vendors and working conditions.
