Position Summary:

Provides support for marketing, communications and public relations for St. Joseph Hospital, affiliates and related physician practices. Support includes administrative support, scheduling, interviewing, writing, and production activities.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Under the general direction of the Manager for Marketing and Communications and within established policies and procedures, the incumbent performs the following functions:

• Provides administrative coordination for the marketing department at St. Joseph Healthcare. This includes managing the department calendar, keeping detailed media logs, tracking and submitting invoices and tracking marketing and communications outcomes metrics.

• Supports the Manager with monthly earned media calendar. Support includes interviewing, writing, editing and placement of earned media. Works to assure press releases and media pitches are timely and effective.

• Supports the production of owned media to include internal and external newsletter and blog. In addition to writing articles, support includes over site of layout, printing and mailing. Annually, supports director in assessment of effectiveness of owned media.

• Supports numerous events and sponsorships on behalf of the organization. Support includes attendance of events, procuring collateral for events, photography, and helping with all aspects of event coordination and production.

• Coordinates with contracted designer, media buyer, and videographer to ensure all design needs, advertising needs, and content needs are meant in accordance with the marketing and communication plan calendar.

• Maintains campus-wide bulletin boards and promotional signage. Responsible for assuring reports, brochures, and flyers are distributed and displayed throughout the campus, affiliates and physician practices.

• Supports department in brainstorm and strategy sessions to actively solicit story ideas to print and electronic media.

• Works collaboratively and cooperatively with colleagues to advance programs and initiatives.

• Works within project timelines and project budgets.

Education: Two year college (Associate’s Degree) In Communications, Marketing or Journalism, or equivalent required

Experience: 3-5 Years
