Legendary Waters is a full-service resort/casino located on the shores of Lake Superior across from the Apostle Islands. The resort features a 47-room hotel, 42 slip marina, full-service restaurant, gaming floor consists of 252 Slot machines. Adjacent to our gaming floor is a well-appointed snack bar and our event center that will hold up to 300.
Under the direction of the General Manager, the Marketing Manager develops plans and executes all aspects of marketing for the entire property. Responsible for directing and supervising all efforts in public relations, players development, advertising, special events, communications, and staff working in the marketing department. A neat professional appearance, dependability, versatility, energetic, and leadership attitude is expected in this role.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
- B.A. Degree in Marketing, Business Administration or related field is preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum five (5) years of casino marketing management or related field.
- Proficient computer experience with MS Office software (Excel, Outlook, Word, Power Point).
- Database analytics required.
- Ability to maintain high confidentiality.
- Knowledge of and experience in promotions planning and execution.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Most possess excellent interpersonal and employee relation skills.
- Ability to respond calmly and make rational decisions in stressful situations with co-workers, guest, and vendors.
- Ability to multi-task.
- Experience analyzing and making recommendations on promotions.
- Time management skills to manage multiple priorities.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Knowledge of Native American culture and norms.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Must adhere to Legendary Waters Resort & Casino’s policies and procedures.
- Must adhere to all appearance and uniform standards.
- Provide outstanding internal and external customer service by exceeding our mission statement to be the premier entertainment experience in the Midwest.
- Establish strategic marketing plans to achieve property and Tribal objectives for the facility and services.
- Develops and executes comprehensive marketing plans and programs, both short and long range, to support sales and revenue objectives of the facility.
- Research, analyze, and monitor financial, technological, and demographic factors to capitalize on market opportunities and minimize effects of competitive activity.
- Develop and manage marketing operating budget.
- Plan and oversee advertising and promotion activities including print, online, electronic media, and direct mail.
- Determine agencies and suppliers of record, and negotiate contract terms, conditions for major services and makes recommendation to the General Manager.
- Serve as a liaison with outside agencies on on-going promotional campaigns.
- Oversee the development and production of promotional materials.
- Achieve satisfactory profit/loss ratio and market share in relation to pre-set standards and industry and economic trends.
- Ensure effective control of marketing results and takes corrective action to guarantee that achievement of marketing objectives falls within designated budgets.
- Oversee and evaluate market research and adjusts marketing strategy to meet changing market and competitive conditions.
- Oversee the development and maintenance of customer database.
- Establish and maintain relationships with industry influencers and key community and strategic partners.
- Resolve conflicts and facilitate changes in structure of marketing group to ensure objective fulfillment and swift response to marketing problems and opportunities.
- Conduct marketing surveys on current and new concepts and provides feedback for future development.
- Guide preparation of marketing activity reports and presents to executive management.
- Establish and maintain a consistent Legendary Waters Resort & Casino image throughout all promotional material, and events.
- Actively Recruiting, interviewing, hiring, training, coaching, counseling, disciplining and termination of Marketing team members as needed.
- Scheduling of staff.
- Ensure compliance with all Minimum Control Standards (MICS) as well as all Tribal Internal Control Standards (TICS).
- Must be capable of presenting a positive image of the property to its guests and vendors and to assist them as required.
- Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs.
- Must be able to sit, stand, and/or walk for extended periods of time.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
