Your tasks
- Assist the Head of Marketing in developing market research and customer trends analysis to help the organization meet its strategic goals.
- Analyze current research and statistical techniques, and evaluate the latest research developments to develop new market research methods.
- Establish research methods, such as surveys, opinion polls, or questionnaires, and design means for collecting data for each project.
- Collaborate with the sales, marketing, and product teams to collect, construct, summarize and exchange market intelligence data.
- Develop and assist in conducting surveys and focus groups on analyzing customer purchasing patterns, preferences, and the organization’s image and marketing effectiveness.
- Monitor market and competitor trends through continuous market surveillance of trade literature, company reports, and publications. Gather, analyze and compare competitor data and pricing to that of the company.
- Research market conditions and conduct feasibility studies to determine market demand for existing and new products or services.
- Utilize data collection and analysis to develop presentations and reports, including charts and graphs, and present recommendations for action plans to management.
- Oversee the implementation of MS Dynamics CRM and advocate company usage as a GFMS power user and champion.
- Maintain market intelligence databases in MS Dynamics and Great Plains and customer market segmentation data for key GFMS segments. Utilize data to summarize and compile financial, pricing, and promotional analyses.
- Assist with coordinating trade shows, sales events, and product training. Participate in trade shows and company-sponsored events as necessary.
Your profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing or Market Research Analysis from a four-year college or university; and three to five years of marketing research, data analysis related experience and/or training in a technical engineering or manufacturing environment; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Highly organized with solid time management skills.
- Strong interpersonal and written and verbal communication skills to write clearly and effectively. Ability to persuasively communicate with outside organizations, sales team, management, or employees of the organization.
- Ability to apply concepts of complex mathematical concepts and collect and analyze complicated and diverse information. Use intuition and experience to complement data to design processes and workflows.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger and handle; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk and reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. This position may require the Market Intelligence Analyst to work irregular hours and travel to trade shows and other company events and locations.
