As a 501(e) member owned hospital services cooperative, New England Life Care (NELC) has built a 6,500 + sq ft. state-of-the-art 503B compounding facility in Woburn, MA.
Advanced Compounding Solutions (ACS) is hiring a Full-Time 7:30AM – 4PM Manufacturing Pharmacist (cGMP Experience Preferred) No Weekends, No Holidays!

Summary: *_ The Registered Pharmacist in this position is responsible for managing the day to day operations of the compounding facility_
*
Responsibilities: *
- In cooperation with the Facility Director, the compounding pharmacist oversees the actions of the compounding technicians and ensures that standard operating procedures (SOPs) are followed in all aspects of the compounding process.
- Completes qualification and validation for all aspects of appropriate gowning and aseptic compounding on a regular basis.
- Manages the compounding schedule to ensure proper staffing and time is allotted for daily batch production.
- Observes and coaches compounding technicians to ensure the compounding center is cleaned and maintained in a manner consistent with SOPs.
- Inspects and examines sterile compounded products according to SOPs to ensure the highest product quality is maintained.
- Maintains hold and quarantine stock per protocol and releases only after appropriate quality tests have been met or product is ready for destruction.
- Demonstrates competency in the preparation / compounding / dispensing of medications according to policies and procedures.
- Recognizes how SOPs are implemented and makes appropriate suggestions to amend processes when appropriate.
- Develops compounding processes and assists in writing compounding SOPs
- Demonstrates knowledge of product catalog, active and inactive pharmaceutical ingredients, and compounding modalities.
- Recognizes errors and uses problem solving to determine the root cause.
- Develops compounding staff, trains them in proper procedure and coaches them
- Ensures that the compounding suite is adequately cleaned and maintained per standard operating procedures.
- Directly supervises the compounding technicians.
- Follows all policies and procedures in the compounding of sterile preparations and maintenance of the compounding facility.
- Assures that professional practice complies with state and federal regulations including, but not limited to the Drug Supply Chain Security act, USP < 797>, and < 800> and Corporate Compliance Program.
- Knowledgeable in current good manufacturing practices( cGMP), acknowledges and upholds quality and safety first in all our products and processes.

Requirements: *
- Bachelor of Science or Doctorate of Pharmacy degree from an accredited school of pharmacy required.
- Registered Pharmacist, in good standing, with a valid license in the state of practice.
- Valid Driver’s License in the state where employed.
- Excellent interpersonal skills required.
- Excellent organizational skills required.
- Ability to apply mathematical operations to such tasks as dosage calculation, formulation of pharmaceutical preparations and data analysis required.
- Ability to define problems, collect / analyze data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions required.
- Ability to communicate effectively with all customers and at all levels of the NELC organization verbally and in writing required.
- Ability to work independently as well as a part of a team required.

Preferred Experience: *
- Minimum of (2) year’s experience in the field of intravenous admixing of all types required, with an understanding of stability and compounding preferred.
- Working / practical knowledge of microcomputer systems including patient documentation systems, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook), automated pharmacy systems, and IV Laminar flow Hood preferred.
