Manufacturing Manager - CORN
YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
As a CORN Manufacturing Manager for Bayer Crop Science, you will create strategies and execute tactics to support and influence all of NA commercial corn production and some foundation corn locations in the Midwest and Hawaii. You will guide processes and operations across your sites by driving safety culture and high seed quality in alignment with Row Crop Production priorities. You also need to ensure legal & regulatory compliance with all seed stewardship and regulations. The Corn Manufacturing Manager will lead and facilitate organizational teamwork to drive operational synergies and continuous improvement initiatives. In this role you will have the opportunity to partner with teams across other functions seeking optimal solutions geared towards customer satisfaction. This role can be hybrid based at our St. Louis, MO HQ or sit at one of the Corn sites (Boone IA, Grinnell IA, Waco NE, Kearney NE, Illiopolis IL, Farmer City IL, Constantine MI or Remington IN) and will report to the Head of North America Corn Manufacturing Operations: Cheryl Werner.
The primary responsibilities of this role, Corn Manufacturing Manager, are to:
End to end operational process expert for Corn, driving operational discipline driving consistent, documented processes to achieve business targets and cost saving deliverables;- Strategic and tactical management of plant asset and talent utilization across the Production network to optimize internal and external capacities;
- Oversight of safety, sustainability and quality programs to ensure best-in-class program management of Environmental Safety & Health (ESH), Human Rights, Quality, ISO, Regulatory and Business Conduct requirements;
- Promotes and creates an Operational Excellence Culture to improve customer experience, reliability and/or cost by building & implementing improvements, enabling best practice sharing across sites/teams and developing standardize practices and efficiencies;
- Accountable for facilitating and championing capital planning and management in partnership with the Manufacturing Leadership Team;
- Manage special projects on cross functional teams, as needed, that support Commercial & Foundation Seed Production, as well as cross crop(s) and/or functions;
- Lead strategic plans to enable Commercial & Foundation Seed Production to delivery new traits, products, processes & treatments for the business;
- Drive business transformation change across teams to prepare organization for the future by partnering with key stakeholders; developing and implementing strategies and eliminate or escalate barriers to success;
- Analyze, identify opportunities, recommend, and create compelling proposals to optimize seed operations while presenting alternatives to the leadership team, focusing on sustainable and strategic initiatives;
- Supports technical networks to prioritize and execute projects.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's Degree;
- Strong work experience in Seed Production or Manufacturing including Operations Management roles;
- Ability to influence across diverse stakeholder groups to enable outcomes;
- Demonstrated strong written and oral communication and interpersonal skills;
- Ability to multi task in a fast paced work environment;
- Makes tough and effective decisions on business and people to move the team forward in a timely manner based on critical knowledge.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Master's degree, MBA or PhD;
- 12+ years of experience in Seed Production or Manufacturing, Operations Management roles;
- 3+ years experience leading projects or teams.
