Curriculum Associates is seeking an established psychometrician with experience leading projects to join our growing Psychometrics team as a Managing Senior Psychometrician. In this role you will use your expertise to design, oversee, lead, and ensure completion of psychometric efforts for a suite of formative and interim assessment products that inform instruction. Additionally, you will supervise and mentor a small team consisting of psychometricians and statistical analysts.
At CA, you will lead psychometric efforts that aim to improve and maintain our current and next generation suite of i-Ready assessments including the i-Ready Diagnostic assessments in mathematics and reading, Assessment of Spanish Reading, progress monitoring assessments, and early literacy assessments. You will work closely with a set of field leading experts, consultants, and TAC members. Most importantly, you will support products that are designed to improve student outcomes in reading and mathematics, especially for students who are historically underserved.

The impact you’ll have:
You will work on psychometric efforts with a scope large enough to positively impact millions of students’ lives
You will use your operational psychometric experience to serve as a mentor for a team of psychometricians and statistical analysts that conduct operational and innovative psychometric analyses
You will serve an oversight and leadership role on key efforts for the company
You will present research findings to diverse audiences at internal stakeholder meetings, technical advisory committee meetings, and professional conferences
We’re looking for someone who has:
A Ph.D. in Educational Measurement, Psychometrics, Educational Psychology, Quantitative Psychology, or related field
Experience leading project teams that develop and execute psychometric analyses
Experience designing and conducting empirical research studies
A strong foundation in item response theory (IRT) and classical test theory (CTT) methods
Someone with a range of psychometric experiences (some possible examples are developing new assessments, field testing, item calibration, scaling, setting standards, reliability, and validity analyses)
Demonstrated proficiency in SAS and/or R
We’d also love to see, though not required:
Direct supervisory experience with one or more direct reports inclusive of administrative tasks such as managing time off requests and conducting performance reviews
Demonstrated experience working with K–12 digital assessment and learning
Detailed knowledge of key state and national policies on educational assessment
A strong foundation in computer adaptive testing (CAT)
Travel: Less than 10% of total time including attendance at team meetings, TAC meetings, planning meetings, and conferences.
