We are currently seeking a Managing Associate, Recovery Division. This is a full-time position that is based out of either Panama City or Tallahassee, Florida where staff will work part-time to full-time within client offices, depending on the clients’ needs. Relocation assistance to this area may be provided for the right candidate.

Managing Associate, Recovery Division will leverage their knowledge of disaster recovery programs and advise clients who are navigating complex government funding projects. We’re seeking a polished professional with expertise in the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) Public Assistance (PA) Program to take initiative and act as a mid-level consultant with a variety of different stakeholders.

Managing Associate, Recovery Division Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Support local governments and private non-profits with their comprehensive recovery from natural disasters.

  • Heavily integrate with government and private non-profit clients who are managing multi-billion dollar, long-term and short-term disaster recovery projects by guiding them through administrative and policy challenges.

  • Contribute to drafting guidance to clients on eligibility of FEMA PA costs related to these disasters, including various hurricanes and Covid-19 disaster declarations.

  • Become entrenched with internal FEMA PA policy experts and external project counterparts to educate applicants through the full-cycle reimbursement process.

  • Drive project formulation support, including collecting related documentation and contributing to well-crafted FEMA PA Project Worksheets (PWs).

Candidates for Managing Associate, Recovery Division must possess the following qualifications:

Managing Associate, Recovery Division Basic Qualifications:

  • A minimum of two years (2) of experience supporting the FEMA PA Program.

  • Previous project management experience is required.

  • Strong communication skills, including written and verbal presentations to clients.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (e.g., pivot tables, VLOOKUP, etc.) and Microsoft Word.

  • Be a local resident or the ability to relocate and work on-site with clients in the “Florida Panhandle” area, including Panama City and Tallahassee.

  • A bachelor’s degree.

Candidates for Managing Associate, Recovery Division may also have the following qualifications:

Managing Associate, Recovery Division Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior consulting experience is highly desirable, ideally with proven success advising local governments on disaster recovery programs.

  • Knowledge of other disaster recovery program funding would be a plus, such as the Community Development Block Grant - Disaster Recovery (CDBG-DR) program.

  • A master’s degree, ideally with formal education in business, public administration, finance, construction management, emergency management, or a field related to disaster recovery.
