PATIENT ACCESS MANAGER


SUMMARY OF JOB:

Responsible for the daily management of patient access processes in the Central Scheduling, Outpatient Ancillary (Hospital, 821, Southampton, Feasterville, Bensalem), and Physician Services Ancillary (Richboro, Warminster and Northeast) departments. Ensure compliance with insurance requirements and authorization requirements. Ensure effective utilization of resources within the departments. Works to establish departmental goals and assists supervisors in achievement of those goals. Keeps director informed of activities within the department and works with Director to achieve departmental goals. Works closely with the supervisor team in monitoring the daily workflow of the staff. Builds relationship with other managers within the organization as well as representatives from referring physician practices and insurance companies.

RECRUITMENT REQUIREMENTS:

  • High school diploma required, bachelor’s degree preferred. A combination of education and experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
  • 5+ years prior supervisory experience preferred.
  • Health Care registration experience required.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, ICD 10 and CPT coding preferred
  • Knowledge of insurance plans, regulations and practices
  • Health care billing process knowledge
  • Ability to set and maintain priorities when dealing with multiple demands and interruptions
  • Ability to mentor, counsel and evaluate employees
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
