The Manager of Transportation impacts students’ lives by:

• Directing activities relating to dispatching, routing, and tracking all school vehicles - both contracted and in-house.
• Serving as the transportation contact person for all drivers, families, and school staff regarding schedule and operations.
• Updating student home addresses and communicating with drivers and school staff regarding updated bus routes.
• Developing route schedules and assigning staff for daily runs and for all extra-curricular activities, class trips, and athletic events.
• Monitoring staff credentials, including driving record/license status, and reporting to the DFO as required.
• Monitoring compliance with relevant city and state regulations related to student transportation.
• Coordinating staff training on bus operations, safety procedures, and incident reporting.
• Submitting incident reports the same day of any incidents on the bus.
• Performing other duties as assigned.

• Possess or be willing to apply/qualify for Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with all appropriate endorsements.
• Have knowledge of principles and methods of transporting students safely and efficiently, all legal qualifications and requirements for CDL licensure, and be aware of all City, State, and Federal school bus transportation safety regulations and best practices.

Physical Requirements:

• Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, talk, hear, operate a computer and other office equipment, reach with hands and arms, and must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
• This is an in-person role.
