Full Time, weekdays. 40 hours/week.

Pay Range is between $36.04-$54.06/hr, depending on years of relevant and like experience. +$2.50/hr for evening and weekend shifts.

POSITION SUMMARY

Provides leadership and management of CUSMPC by overseeing clinical and support staff in the Physical Therapy department. Duties include but are not limited to: maintaining the integrity of the sports physical therapy services, managing the sports physical therapy and support staff, promoting growth of sports physical therapy programs and promotion of CUSMPC when appropriate. Demonstrates an extensive working knowledge of and familiarity with all applications associated with managing a healthcare setting. Will provide physical therapy services 75% of scheduled time and will set a standard of clinical excellence by providing inservices, and education to clinical staff. Demonstrates knowledge of Medicare and Joint Commission on Healthcare Accreditation, and other regulatory standards applicable to the Physical Therapy setting.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

Education or Formal Training

B.S., M.S., or D.P.T., from physical therapy education program as required by licensure

Special Qualifications (Licensure, Registration, etc.)

Current Colorado license in physical therapy Must meet the qualifications of the PT, PT/ATC, or ATC job description. Current BLS certification. Member of APTA Preferred

Knowledge, Skill and Ability

  • Knowledge of and familiarity with all facets of healthcare operations and administration specific to the delivery of sports medicine, sports science, and physical therapy
  • Knowledge of organizational policies, procedures and systems, with the ability to effectively communicate and implement them.
  • Knowledge of CLIA, OSHA, Joint Commission, compliance program, and other governmental regulations and compliance requirements thereof.
  • Knowledge of employment law and regulations.
  • Knowledge of reimbursement regulations and requirements.
  • Knowledge of computer systems and applications.
  • Knowledge of ICD-9 and CPT codes.
  • Skill in planning, organizing, delegating and supervising.
  • Skill in time management.
  • Skill in providing leadership and support.
  • Skill in gathering and interpreting data.
  • Skill in verbal and written communication.
  • Skill in researching, preparing, and presenting comprehensive reports.

Experience

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience working in physical therapy setting.
  • Supervisory Experience Preferred

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible and accountable for the overall operations of the CU Sports Medicine and Performance Center Physical Therapy department (CUSMPC PT), which includes but is not limited to: sports physical therapy, massage therapy, athletic training services, and other support staff. This may include other programs that could be developed.
  • Assist Executive Director, Medical Director, and Clinic Manager, and in carrying out department initiatives, continuous monitoring related to quality initiatives, regulatory compliance and adherence to department and hospital policies.
  • Coordinate continuing education opportunities for clinical staff including staff in-services and monetary funds allocation.
  • Assist the medical director in clinical research development.
  • Monitor the quality and safety of clinic equipment and supply inventory and ordering.
  • Coordinate the high school outreach team in order to strengthen relationships with Boulder Valley School District and the athletic trainers who provide care.
  • In collaboration with the Executive Director and the Clinic Manager, the Manager of Physical Therapy will be responsible for budgetary and business matters for the Physical Therapy department. Responsible for department expenditures and ensures that the department remains within budget. Reviews and codes invoices and forwards to Accounts Payable in a timely manner. Keeps Director informed of variances in budget.
  • Provides, presents, and analyzes data for fiscal, statistical and planning purposes.
  • Assists in the development/implementation of cost-effective policies and procedures for all operational areas including billing, insurance, fee schedules, credit/collections, purchasing, data processing and space planning.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES

  • Outpatient Sports Physical Therapy/Sports Medicine environment.
  • Requires sitting for extended periods of time, as well as some bending, stooping, and stretching.
  • Requires physical abilities as outlined in PT, PT/ATC, or ATC, job description.
  • Requires manual dexterity and eye-hand coordination sufficient to operate a keyboard, photocopies, telephone, calculator, and other office equipment.
  • Requires normal range of vision and hearing.
