About the Role
Brighton Health Plan Solution (BHPS) has a great opportunity for a Manager to join the Finance Team. Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, the Manager of Financial Planning and Analysis will be responsible for a wide range of activities including gathering data, organizing information, analyzing historical results, making forecasts and projections, making recommendations, and generating Excel models, PowerPoint presentations and reports.
This Manager role is best suited for someone who gets excited about controlling data, using Excel to analyze, budget, and forecast, and using Powerpoint to create compelling content and help weave a story to explain results or projections.
Primary Responsibilities
- Coordinate, execute and enhance the annual budgeting and periodic financial forecast processes.
- Leads the preparation of monthly management reporting of financial results that is used to inform Management and the Board of Directors.
- Performs analyses of business drivers and actuals to budget/forecast variances.
- Prepares and delivers monthly reporting and trends of budget versus actuals to key stakeholders.
- Develop and maintain detailed financial models to support Management decision making.
- Track and reports on Key Performance Indicators to communicate to Management the progress and success of strategy execution.
- Leads the preparation of product and client profitability analyses.
- Leads the preparation of a monthly dashboard.
- Provides direction and counsel to key stakeholders on budgeting, forecasting, monthly trend analysis, risks and opportunities.
- Calculates and reports on Sales and Account Management incentive compensation.
- Leads analyses of costs to drive improved efficiency and financial performance.
- Develops ad hoc business analytics to support strategic decision making.
- Compiles and analyzes financial information to report and document business transactions.
- Leads the problem-solving activities of any day-to-day challenges, in partnership with others.
Essential Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance or similar; CPA preferred.
- 5-10 years of experience in financial planning and analysis.
- Strong analytical skills (ability to see the big picture and focus on attention to details) and a desire to probe further into data as necessary.
- Demonstrated strength in the following skills: problem solving, communication, documentation, research and resolution, financial analysis.
- Strong business acumen and ability to interact with all levels of Management.
- Ability to adapt to new challenges in a dynamic environment with shifting priorities.
- Strong knowledge in Microsoft applications including Excel (pivot tables, v-lookup) and PowerPoint required.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics accounting system preferred, but not required.
- Insurance industry experience preferred, but not required.
- Knowledge of SQL preferred, but not required.
