Position Description:


This role will be an outside sales role to establish relationships with new customers, secure contracts, and achieve assigned sales quotas and targets. As the Manager of Business Development, you are responsible for initiating contact with potential and current customers to generate and qualify leads, promote the company's products and services, and identify sales opportunities.


Responsibilities:

  • Drive and achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual sales budgetary targets
  • Build a qualified pipeline with an emphasis on goal-oriented sales and new logo growth
  • Contribute to a team of parcel sellers and solution design/discovery experts
  • Drive CSM compliance and reporting for individual opportunities, leads, and accounts
  • Effectively transition customer solutions from the sales cycle to the appropriate commercial, legal, and delivery teams
  • Promote and sell Redwood’s parcel services to potential clients
  • Drive education and understanding of parcel services both internally within the organization and externally to various partners and customers
  • Partner with Sales Leadership to ensure a high-performing pipeline by implementing objectives that appropriately reflect Redwood’s business goals
  • Effectively manage parcel solutions RFP’s throughout the entire sales cycle, communicating both internally and externally with key stakeholders
  • Display consultative customer practices to offer various Redwood solutions that will solve current supply chain challenges while enabling future scale to the client
  • Participate in a regular cadence of one-on-one pipeline reviews in order to accelerate the sales cycle and identify potential pipeline gaps versus goal expectations
  • Identify potential customer roadblocks to selecting and implementing a parcel services solution, and work internally and externally to strategically solve the potential challenges
  • Participate in QBR’s and continuous improvement feedback loops with the customer to drive organic growth within the current book of business
  • Recommend sales strategies for improvements based on the parcel carrier market research and competitor analysis
  • Maintain strategic customer and Redwood partner relationships
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required
  • Minimum 5 years of outside sales experience in a business-to-business sales environment
  • Effective communicator, able to convey complex ideas in a clear, concise manner both verbally and in writing
  • Building out a book of business with a proven track record of success
  • Collaborative team player who is also an independent thinker
  • Self-starter with ability to work in high pressure situations under tight deadlines
  • Demonstrated capabilities in strategic prioritization, conflict resolution, and individual and team facilitation
  • Exceptional analytical skills, able to critically evaluate the information gathered from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts, decompose high-level information into details, abstract up from low-level information to a more general understanding, distinguish presented user requests from the underlying true needs and distinguish solution ideas from requirements
