The Company: In 2006, CEO Kara Bishop, decided to pursue a dream and chart a new life course. After obtaining a degree in philosophy, pursuing and abandoning a Masters of Divinity from Dallas Theological Seminary, and building a career in restaurant management, life needed to change! In her own words, “I had no idea what I wanted to do with my life. So, I spent a year evaluating everything I read, watched, and enjoyed hoping I would find my life’s passion.” During that year Kara discovered a love for Interior Design.Kara went back to school to obtain a degree in a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Interior Design.
As her career developed from interior design into design and construction management, Kara realized that a rich family background of business from her father and creative hospitality from her mother, combined with her background in philosophy, customer service, and design gave her a unique perspective. That eclectic backdrop had a natural application to the world of problem solving and creating when it came to people, hospitality, and space logistic and optimization.
In 2018 Kara was invited by the Ambassador Enterprises community to take her unique skills, perspective and vision to start to build a company. In 2019 the first page of the GEN-D story formalized in the form of an event services division within Ambassador Enterprises. This division included the management of the venue Events at The Summit. A year later, in 2020, out of an emerging vision of how people, places and events interact, GEN-D was born. Kara knew that places are personal and are intricately connected to the people who live and work in them. This became the overarching philosophy that drives GEN-D. “Professional people and organizations tend to have one thing in common; there is more work to do than there is ever time to do it. Busy professionals and organizations focus on things that are urgent and important, but not critical to their overall impact. It became my goal to solve that problem.”
As GEN-D grew, it found its path forward as a space management company that seeks to simplify the life a busy professional or organization by optimizing the logistics and management of space and hospitality. They offer an integrated suite of services that are driven by managing, maintaining, using, and optimizing space. Their vertical and horizontal integration of service driven industries such as landscaping, building maintenance, janitorial services, relational hospitality management, space management, and event logistics and management allow them to serve their clients in areas of high need, thereby allowing their clients to centralize their focus on increasing their impact on their community.
