Federal Strategies, a rapidly growing small business in Fredericksburg, VA is seeking a hardworking individual to support the United States Marine Corps. Military range safety experience with US ranges needed, particularly with Range Safety Officer (RSO) experience/expertise. Familiarity with Special Use Airspace an added benefit. Must be a US Citizen with the ability to obtain a Secret Clearance and have good written communication skills. Individual will work within Range and Training Area Management at Quantico, VA.

Position Description:
Range Management/Policy support will include the analysis of service level policy and guidance, review and propose comments to technical documents, provide recommendations, and review of all Marine Corps Range Safety and Special Use Airspace documentation. You will work as part of the USMC Range and Training Area Management (RTAM) Team supporting and implementing Range Policy and
Guidance, while providing recommendations/solutions for range safety, management, and operations.

Responsibilities include providing technical analysis and documentation services to support the update process for RTAM sponsored orders and publication that provide service-level guidance for the USMC Range Program. Update the annual Office of the Secretary of Defense (OSD) Sustainable Range Report. In addition, provide technical analysis and comments on range safety-related documents published by DOD, FAA, Navy, and USMC, as well as range instructions, documents, and
initiatives for impacts to USMC range safety/management policy.

Travel expectations are 10-15% and may include international destinations.

Experience Requirements:

• Desired Bachelor’s Degree with 3-5 years of military range operations experience.
• Military experience may be substituted for education degree.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Knowledge of Special Use Airspace a plus.

Must be able to obtain a SECRET Clearance.
Job Requirements:

• Review and provide recommendations to ensure the Installation Range Management Plan addresses the introduction of new doctrine, force structure, equipment, and assesses deficiencies in the current inventory of training ranges.
• Attend the quarterly Sustainable Ranges Working Integrated Process Team (WIPT) either in person or via telephone in order to capture meeting minutes and prepare draft responses to meeting taskers.
• Review and propose comments to TECOM technical documents. The analysis shall provide alternatives for furthering the training doctrines and provide analysis of alternatives for each recommended alternative.
• Attend the annual Range Program Review and the quarterly Mission Capable Ranges Working Group.
• Provide technical review and comments for Marine Corps installations that have special use air space to ensure that ranges are operating within local agreements.
• Provide comments on range communication, training systems, and instrumented range requirements to ensure safe range operations.
