Job description
VISTA Leader positions require 1 yr of completed service as VISTA. The Makers + Mentors Network (M+MN), a STEM initiative of Citizen Schools, is partnering with community colleges, nonprofits, school districts, and minority serving institutions to run the Maker Fellows program. The two Maker Fellow VISTA Leader positions will be based in Boston, MA and hosted by M+MN/Citizen Schools. As the M+MN team enters the second year of its Maker Fellows program, the two Maker Fellow VISTA Leaders will join the team and play a leadership role in the success of the second cohort of Maker Fellow VISTAs, while simultaneously contributing to future program expansion by leading on substantive strategic growth projects. In partnership with the M+MN program director and program experience manager, each VISTA Leader will provide support to a portfolio of 12-15 Maker Fellow VISTAs placed at host sites across the country. This will include setting and executing on a set of annual programmatic goals, supporting Fellows through their learning and professional development pathways, and leaning into projects where there is significant overlap across different host sites. The VISTA Leaders will also support the M+MN leadership team on several strategic growth projects, including capturing and telling success stories from across the network, researching future host sites in target expansion markets and providing overall support for the M+MN Community of Practice. As a Maker Fellow VISTA Leader, you will join and contribute to a cohort of 25+ AmeriCorps VISTA members placed at leading organizations across the country and participate in a year-long structured and collaborative learning pathway. Benefits include a living stipend of $29,120/year, a $400/month housing stipend, a Segal Education Award of $6,195 upon successful completion, or end of year cash stipend of $1,800, healthcare coverage, and child care subsidy.
