JOB DESCRIPTION
TITLE OF JOB: Maintenance Personnel/Grounds Keeper
QUALIFICATIONS: Demonstrate success in performing maintenance repair/tasks
High School Diploma/GED
REPORTS TO: Building Principal/ Maintenance Supervisor
JOB GOAL: To maintain all District facilities in excellent condition so that full educational use may be realized at all times. To be responsible for and maintain all District-owned buildings, facilities, grounds and equipment.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Maintenance work such as replacing worn or defective wiring, switches, faucets, plumbing

fixtures, etc. and repairing fencing, asphalt, concrete, ceilings, etc.

• Assist custodians and other maintenance staff when requested.
• Consult with Maintenance Supervisor for regular maintenance programs and daily requests. Provide Maintenance Supervisor with daily progress on work order status.
• Develop a system for dealing with emergency repair problems effectively and efficiently.
• Maintain outside lawns, trees, shrubs, landscaping, sidewalks and general appearance of buildings and parking lots assigned to his/her supervision.
• Participate in necessary painting and general repairs to plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and general

mechanical areas.

• Replace damaged and broken windows.
• Assume responsibility for the general security of the building.
• Assume responsibility for the general fire safety of the building
• Perform emergency repair of cleaning services as necessary.
• Will be required to do some minor and major trimming of trees.
• Must have a working knowledge of: lawn mowers, weed eaters, fertilizer spreaders, striping machines, and timers of sprinkler systems.
• Must perform daily maintenance of equipment.
• Be familiar with and follow City watering schedule.
• Perform all other duties as assigned by Superintendent, Maintenance Supervisor or Building Principal.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
The employee is required to stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms.
The employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
EVALUATION:
Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with BOE policy.

Job Types: Full-time, Contract

Pay: $30,000.00 - $49,183.00 per year
